The declaration of Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) marks a historic milestone for the Municipality of Buenavista and the 23rd Infantry (Masigasig) Battalion. This achievement signifies that the threat posed by the CPP-NPA-NDF in the municipality has been reduced to an insignificant level, with no monitored enemy activities recorded in the area for almost two years.
More than a security accomplishment, the SIPS declaration paves the way for sustained development, increased investments, and improved quality of life for the people of Buenavista. It reflects the transformation of communities once affected by insurgency into peaceful and progressive areas where government services and economic opportunities can flourish.
This milestone would not have been possible without the strong partnership and sincere commitment of the Provincial Government of Agusan del Norte under the leadership of Governor Maria Angelica Rosedell M. Amante and the Local Government Unit of Buenavista led by Mayor Joselito T. Roble. Their unwavering dedication to addressing the root causes of conflict, delivering essential services, and promoting inclusive development has helped realize the long-standing aspiration of the people for lasting peace and stability.
Likewise, the 23rd Infantry (Masigasig) Battalion, under the leadership of LTC Glennford C. Libre INF (GSC) PA, remained steadfast in its mission of protecting communities, supporting peace initiatives, and strong collaboration with stakeholders. Through a whole-of-nation approach, the battalion worked hand in hand with local government units, partner agencies, and community leaders to ensure that peace and security gains were sustained and translated into meaningful development for the people.
With the declaration of SIPS, Buenavista is now better positioned to attract businesses, investments, and development projects that will generate employment and livelihood opportunities for its residents. As peace continues to prevail, the municipality can look forward to greater progress, economic growth, and a brighter future for all. This declaration stands as a testament to what can be achieved when government leaders, security forces, and communities unite toward a common goal, a peaceful, secure, and prosperous Buenavista for present and future generations
