Borongan City District Jail officially joins forces with the Department of Education for Brigada Eskwela 2026! 🎒🏫

With the shared vision of fostering a safe, clean, and conducive learning environment for our youth, personnel from the Borongan City District Jail rolled up their sleeves to assist local schools in preparing for the upcoming school year.

This meaningful initiative was conducted under the guidance and supervision of the Regional Director of BJMP Region 8, 𝗝𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗧 𝗥𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗙 𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗢𝗡, 𝗗𝗦𝗖 and through the active leadership of our Acting Jail Warden, 𝗦𝗝𝗢𝟰 𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗗 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗲.

From cleaning classrooms to minor repairs and beautification, the Borongan City District Jail remains steadfast in its dedication to community development and nation-building.

At the 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 (BJMP), our mission goes far beyond the walls. We are firmly guided by our core mandate: 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴:
We ensure a secure, orderly, and humane environment for all persons deprived of liberty (PDL). Maintaining safety and strict adherence to human rights is the foundation of everything we do.

𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁:
True corrections mean transformation. Through our comprehensive Therapeutic Community Modality Program (TCMP), we provide our PDL with:

𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 & 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 to prepare them for self-sufficiency.
𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 through ALS to broaden their horizons.
𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 & 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 to heal and rebuild.

We don't just secure the present; we invest in the future. By equipping our PDL with the right tools, we ensure that when they reintegrate into the community, they return as productive, reformed, and empowered citizens.

​Transformation begins with a commitment to faith! Borongan City District Jail conducted its weekly Values Restoration Program, focusing on the virtue of 𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨.

​This essential session was led by our dedicated personnel, 𝗦𝗝𝗢𝟯 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗡𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗮 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗹 𝗠 𝗕𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗼, who shared insightful reflections on how fostering spiritual reflection, inner peace, and a steadfast faith in our actions and character can pave the way for personal growth and positive change.

​The Borongan City District Jail, with supervision and guidance from 𝗝𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗧 𝗥𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗙 𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗢𝗡, 𝗗𝗦𝗖, Regional Director of BJMP Region 8, and under the proactive leadership of Acting Jail Warden 𝗦𝗝𝗢𝟰 𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗗 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗲, successfully conducted a 𝘑𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘵 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘺𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 yesterday.

​In our continuous commitment to maintaining a safe, secure, and contraband-free environment, this operation was carried out in close coordination and partnership with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Borongan City Station, headed by 𝗙𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣 𝗝𝗔𝗬𝗦𝗢𝗡 𝗚 𝗣𝗜𝗟𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗢.

𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:

​𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵: A meticulous inspection of all inmate dormitories and facility premises was conducted to ensure no illegal contraband or hazardous materials were present.

​𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆: This joint effort underscores the strong collaboration between the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and the BFP in upholding public safety and institutional integrity.

​We extend our snappiest salute and deepest gratitude to FINSP JAYSON G PILONGO and the entire team of the BFP Borongan City Station for their unwavering support and professionalism during this operation.

​Yesterday, the Borongan City District Jail actively participated in the 2𝘯𝘥 𝘘𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘊𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘗𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘖𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘊𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘭 (𝘊𝘗𝘖𝘊) 𝘔𝘦𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 presided by the City Mayor of Borongan, 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗜𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻 𝗖. 𝗔𝗴𝗱𝗮.

​Under the dedicated leadership of our Acting Jail Warden, 𝗦𝗝𝗢𝟰 𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗺𝗮𝗿 𝗗 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗲, and with the unwavering supervision and guidance of the Regional Director of BJMP Region 8, 𝗝𝗦𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗧 𝗥𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗙 𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗢𝗡, 𝗗𝗦𝗖, the Jail Bureau reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining public safety and fostering a peaceful community.

​𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:

​𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿-𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆: Engaging with local government units and law enforcement to streamline security efforts.

​𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀: Discussing strategic plans to enhance the welfare of persons deprived of liberty (PDL) and the surrounding community.

​𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲: Aligning BJMP programs with the city’s overall peace and order agenda.

​We continue to work hand-in-hand with our local leaders to ensure that Borongan remains a safe and secure home for every Boronganon.

Penelope Pomida of Radyo Pilipinas, the newly elected President of the Association of Government Information Officers (AGIO) Eastern Samar, called for stronger collaboration, integrity, and commitment among government communicators in her message during the Communicators Network Meeting held on Monday, May 11, at the Provincial Capitol Building in Borongan City.

In her message, Pomida expressed gratitude to all participants for their active involvement, insights, and continued dedication to public information service, noting that their collective efforts play a vital role in ensuring effective government communication across the province.

She also extended appreciation to Regional Head Reyan L. Arinto of the Philippine Information Agency Eastern Visayas for his presence during the gathering and for sharing insights that, according to her, inspired and guided communicators in strengthening their role as public servants.

As she assumed leadership of AGIO Eastern Samar, she expressed commitment to further unite information officers in the province and to continue promoting truthful, timely, and responsible communication in support of good governance and public service delivery.

She likewise encouraged fellow communicators to carry forward the learnings and shared goals from the meeting as they continue their mission in serving the public.
