On March 14, 2018, Despite due notice and invitation from Environmental Management Bureau Region 8 (EMB 8), not a single Barangay Official of Barangay Can-Abong came to join the Site Inspection of Sanitary Landfill vis-a-vis Technical Conference spearheaded by EMB 8 at Barangay Cabalagnan. Present during said Site Inspection and supposed Technical Conference where the City EcoSWAM Board chaired by the Honorable City Mayor Maria Fe R. Abunda and TWG members comprised of City Officials, City Department Heads and Representatives of different Sectors including representative of the Diocese of Borongan. Also witness to the event were Punong Barangays of Cabalagnan where the Sanitary Landfill is located, Punong Barangays of nearby barangays, Members of the Local Media and PNP Personnel.

Picture above/on top, is an aerial shot freshly taken today, shows the current status of the ongoing Sanitary Landfill development in compliance with the "Commitment" agreed during a meeting with EMB 8 last February 20, 2018.
