Tiya Tindeng, former Gov. Clotilde Japzon-Salazar, arrives at the provincial capitol, to visit, for the last time, a place she once called home as the first woman Governor of Eastern Samar.

As a fellow daughter of Guiuan, I am inspired by her trailblazing leadership and her breaking the glass ceiling for women leadership in the province.

I join the entire province in mourning her passing and remembering her meaningful and service-filled life, an inspiration for all of us women-leaders in public service.

Our condolences to the family and May Eternal Rest Be Granted to Gov. Clotilde Japzon-Salazar. 🙏

We join our Christian brothers and sisters all over the world today as we commemorate the Passion, Crucifixion, and Death of our Saviour Jesus Christ.

A timely reminder that no matter how difficult, seemingly impossible, and beyond our control the challenges we face, we have already been saved. Jesus' wound has already healed us (Isaiah 53:5).

God is our sole refuge in such trying times and we are assured by His sacrifice today that we commemorate that God will save us.

A prayerful Good Friday to all. 🙏
