This work began in 2000 in Cebu, Philippine, not as an organization chasing attention, but as people choosing compassion, consistency, and community.
What Flemming and Elisabet started all those years ago grew because of the people who stood beside them:
local leaders, caregivers, teachers, builders, social workers, health professionals, volunteers, families serving families.
I was there to support the mission during 2007–2008, when everything was still very hands-on and deeply rooted in trust.
Those were years of showing up daily, listening, learning, and doing the work quietly, without expecting recognition.
Names like Ireneo & Jovita, Abi, Esther, Carmen, Adie, Romeo & Carmelita, Nida, and so many others represent something powerful:
long-term commitment.
Not temporary help.
Not one-time projects.
But lives are dedicated to lifting others up.
For years, this team built food programs, education pathways, family care, health and dental missions, livelihood projects, and safe spaces for children, often behind the scenes, often unseen.
And now, after decades of service, they are finally receiving the news recognition they have deserved for so long.
This isn’t sudden success.
This is earned respect.
So proud of this community.
So grateful to have walked part of the journey with them.
And so hopeful for what the next chapter brings 🇵🇭❤️
