On the first Monday of September—September 7, 2026, the LGU Bontoc joins the celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary with the theme:

“PUSO, DANGAL AT GALING PARA SA BAYAN”

Led by Mayor Noel Alinsub and Vice Mayor Rodulfo Nablea, together with the Sangguniang Bayan Members, the LGU Bontoc family reaffirmed their commitment to public service through the Commitment Wall.

STRENGTHENING SCHOOL SAFETY AND EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

BONTOC, SOUTHERN LEYTE — Bontoc National High School conducted a Simulation Exercise aimed at strengthening the preparedness and emergency response capabilities of the school community.

Students, teachers, and school personnel actively participated in the exercise, together with key responders and partner agencies from the Department of Education (DepEd), Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Rural Health Unit (RHU).

The activity provided the school community with an opportunity to practice proper procedures during emergency situations, including rapid response, evacuation, communication, first aid, and coordination with emergency responders.

With recent school-related incidents highlighting the importance of preparedness and vigilance, exercises like this help ensure that learners and school personnel know what to do, where to go, and how to respond when faced with an emergency.

School safety is everyone's responsibility.

Through the continued cooperation of BNHS, DepEd, MDRRMO, PNP, BFP, RHU, teachers, students, staff, and the community, we strengthen our collective ability to protect lives and keep our schools safe.

HAZE ALERT: NAKAKAAPEKTO ANG HAZE SA MARAMING BAHAGI NG BANSA, KABILANG ANG SILANGANG VISAYAS

Patuloy na nakaaapekto sa maraming bahagi ng bansa, kabilang ang Eastern Visayas ang haze o manipis na usok na dulot ng transboundary smoke mula sa malawakang forest fires sa Kalimantan, Indonesia. Dahil sa umiiral na Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), umaabot ang usok hanggang sa ilang bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao.

Sa pinakahuling pagtataya, Moderate to Heavy Haze ang nararanasan sa:

•Southern Leyte

Samantala, Light to Moderate Haze naman ang nararanasan sa:

• Northern Samar
• Samar
• Eastern Samar
• Leyte
• Biliran

Ang haze ay manipis na usok o maliliit na particle sa hangin na nagpapalabo sa tanawin. Maaari itong magdulot ng ubo, iritasyon sa mata, ilong at lalamunan, hirap sa paghinga, at paglala ng hika o iba pang sakit sa baga, lalo na sa mga bata, matatanda, buntis, at mga may sakit sa puso o baga.

Paalala sa publiko:

• Limitahan ang pananatili sa labas kung hindi kinakailangan.
• Magsuot ng face mask kung lalabas ng bahay.
• Uminom ng maraming tubig upang maiwasan ang dehydration.

The Local Government Unit of Bontoc, Southern Leyte joins the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in celebrating the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, honoring our dedicated Lingkod Bayani.

With the theme “Puso, Dangal at Galing Para sa Bayan,” the celebration highlights the commitment, integrity, and excellence of public servants in delivering meaningful service to the Filipino people.

As part of the celebration, the Wall of Commitment officially kicked off today, September 1, 2026, where employees of LGU Bontoc express their personal commitment to uphold excellence, integrity, and dedication in public service.
