From the mountains of Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province, our health workers are moving - going barangay to barangay, house to house, and community to community.

Today, the DOH Cordillera CHD, together with the Provincial DOH Offices and Provincial Health Offices, have come together, united their efforts, and strengthened collaboration for one shared mission: to find the children who may have been missed and make sure they are not left behind.

Through mop-up vaccination and Rapid Convenience Monitoring of the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR SIA) and Vitamin A Supplementation, our teams continue to reach families - even in far-flung communities and despite challenging terrain and weather.

Because every knock on a door is a chance to protect a child.
Every conversation is a chance to build trust.
Every vaccine and Vitamin A dose is a step toward a healthier future.

Hangga’t may batang hindi pa naaabot, hindi tayo titigil.

Gov. Lacwasan urges Capitol Workforce to lead final push for Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign

Bontoc — Governor Bonifacio C. Lacwasan, Jr. has issued a directive calling on all Provincial Government personnel to actively support the final stretch of the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MRSIA), rallying public servants to lead by example in protecting the province’s youth against preventable diseases.

In his memorandum dated August 27, 2026, addressed to all departments under the Provincial Government, Lacwasan enjoined Capitol employees to ensure that their eligible children or grandchildren, aged 6 to 59 months, are brought to the nearest Municipal Health Office or Barangay Health Station before the campaign concludes on September 4, 2026.

The governor underscored the campaign's inclusive scope, reminding the workforce that all infants and young children within the target age range are eligible for vaccination, regardless of whether they have previously received measles shots.

"The Provincial Government recognizes the vital role of every employee in promoting and supporting measures that safeguard the health and well-being of our children and communities," Lacwasan stated in the directive.

"Your participation in this activity will contribute significantly to preventing measles and rubella and achieving high vaccination coverage in the province," the Governor further said.

According to health authorities, Measles and rubella are highly contagious viral infections that can lead to severe health complications, including pneumonia, encephalitis, and lifelong disabilities, if left unchecked. Hence, the Department of Health continuously advocate for supplemental campaigns to close immunization gaps and prevent potential community outbreaks.

Lacwasan expressed confidence that cooperation within government ranks will help Mountain Province reach its immunization targets and secure a healthier environment for its youngest residents. "By engaging local government workers directly, the provincial leadership aims to boost vaccination turnout in our ten municipalities."

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) informs all government employees in Luzon, NCR, and the Visayas that parents and guardians may avail themselves of existing leave privileges to bring their children for vaccination during the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA) 2026.
