In adherence to Proclamation No. 479, s. 1994 declaring the month of November as Filipino Values Month, our school successfully conducted activities that highlighted the importance of unity, accountability, and positive Filipino values among learners.
This year’s observance centered on the theme, “Bagong Pilipinas, Bagong Pag-asa: Pagkakaisa at Pananagutan para sa Makabuluhang Pagbabago,” which aimed to deepen learners’ understanding of moral values and strengthen their sense of responsibility as young Filipinos. The celebration specifically sought to achieve the following objectives:
a) Promote positive Filipino values and strengthen moral development among all learners;
b) Encourage reflection on how unity and accountability drive societal transformation;
c) Provide inclusive opportunities for creative expressions of values through accessible and diverse media.
d) Recognize and celebrate the diverse talents of learners across ability levels.
As part of the activities for the elementary level, our school organized a Poster-Making Contest for Grades 4–6 learners. The contest served as an avenue for students to creatively express the significance of unity, hope, and shared responsibility in building a better nation. A total of 5 participants showcased their artistic talents, each presenting unique interpretations of the theme.
The posters were evaluated using the following criteria:
• Relevance to the Theme – 40%
• Creativity and Originality – 25%
• Inclusivity and Expression of Values – 20%
• Presentation and neatness – 15%
• Total: 100%
The activity was successfully conducted, achieving its goals of promoting Filipino values, encouraging artistic expression, and celebrating the learners’ diverse talents. Through this initiative, the school reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing values-oriented learners who are ready to contribute positively to the community and the nation.
