𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 | 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆

And just like that, our SPES chapter comes to a close.

What started as a simple summer commitment turned into something far more meaningful — a journey of learning, growth, and shared experiences. During our culminating activity, we stood proud as we received our certificates, each one a symbol of the hard work we poured in. Some of us walked away with special honors — Going the Extra Mile, Leadership Award — unexpected yet deeply humbling reminders that effort never goes unnoticed.

We also proudly placed 10th in the exhibit presentation, a moment that reminded us that teamwork, creativity, and heart can take us far, even in ways we didn’t expect.

To PESO and DOLE, thank you for opening this door for us. You didn’t just give us an opportunity — you gave us a chance to become better versions of ourselves.

To Ms. Victoria P. Reyes, Head of the Barangay Employment Service Unit (BESU), thank you for being a steady guide and for believing in us from day one.

To our SPES president, Jeffrey Nuñez, thank you for being our anchor throughout the journey. Your dedication, patience, and encouragement inspired us all to push forward and stay united.

And to the Kabataan of Barangay Zapote, thank you for making sure we were seen and represented, even in the little things like our uniforms. They weren’t just clothes — they were a symbol of unity and support.

This may be the end of our SPES journey, but it's only the beginning of everything we've learned to carry forward.

We spent part of our day feeding stray cats and dogs around Brgy. Zapote. It was a simple way to show a little love to animals that don’t always get the care they need. Hoping small acts like this help spread awareness and kindness toward our furry friends.

Spent the day watering the plants and maintaining the garden area. It’s a simple task, but seeing the plants grow little by little makes the effort worth it!

Today marks the third productive day of gardening at Barangay Zapote, with SPES beneficiaries actively contributing to the ongoing community project.

On Day 5 of the clean-up drive in Brgy. Zapote, SPES beneficiaries once again showed their commitment by helping keep the area clean and orderly. It’s more than just work — it’s about taking part in something that matters.

In a united effort to promote environmental sustainability, SPES beneficiaries from Brgy. Zapote joined a riverside clean-up drive alongside the scholars of Punong Barangay Angelito A. Naval. This initiative was made possible through the support, guidance and presence of Ms. Victoria P. Reyes, Head of the Barangay Employment Service Unit (BESU).

We extend our sincere appreciation to Punong Barangay Angelito A. Naval for generously providing early lunch to all participants, and to Ms. Victoria P. Reyes for her kind assistance in organizing it. We also thank the nearby neighborhood for their generosity in lending essential equipment such as ladders, cutting tools, and tables and chairs. SPES Zapote beneficiaries rolled up their sleeves and joined the third day of the ongoing clean-up drive in Brgy. Zapote. We commend the efforts of the beneficiaries who showed enthusiasm and teamwork throughout the day. Small actions like these contribute to lasting change in our communities.

Let’s all do our part in keeping our surroundings clean—properly dispose of your waste, avoid littering, and support local environmental initiatives whenever you can.

We wrapped up our last day of Brigada Eskwela at Zapote Elementary School—both in the Main and Annex buildings earlier today. As SPES (Special Program for Employment of Students) beneficiaries, we mostly spent the day sorting and organizing books to help prepare the classrooms for the new school year.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Zapote Elementary School for allowing us to take part in this year’s Brigada Eskwela. We’re glad to have contributed in our own small way. Thank you for the trust, warmth, and guidance throughout the entire experience!

Earlier today, we joined the fourth day of Brigada Eskwela at Zapote Elementary School, covering both the Main and Annex buildings. As SPES beneficiaries, we helped sort and organize books, and repainted student desks again to help prepare a more welcoming space for the students.

We truly appreciate Ma’am Apple for her patience and guidance throughout the process. Her support made a big difference in helping us stay focused and work as a team. Thank you, Ma'am Apple! 🤍
