A joyful and meaningful day unfolded as the young participants of the free football clinic proudly took part in a Mini Tournament, successfully organized through the efforts of the City Government of Biñan under the leadership of Mayor Gel Alonte, the Sports Development Division of the Youth and Sports Development Office headed by Coach Almer Almazora, and in partnership with the Biñan Strikers Football Academy.

The tournament served as an exciting opportunity for the children to showcase the skills, discipline, and teamwork they had developed throughout the clinic. Filled with energy and enthusiasm, the young athletes gave their best on the field, demonstrating not only their growing football abilities but also the values of sportsmanship, perseverance, and camaraderie. Each match reflected the hard work and dedication they had invested during their training sessions.

The event became even more special as proud parents and family members gathered to cheer for the participants. Smiles and excitement were evident on the faces of both the children and their loved ones, creating a memorable atmosphere filled with encouragement and support. More than just a competition, the Mini Tournament celebrated the progress, confidence, and passion that the young athletes had gained through the program.

As the day concluded, the event stood as a testament to the positive impact of youth sports development in the community. A high-intensity and unforgettable championship showdown unfolded at the Alonte Sports Arena on May 31, 2026, as the Biñan Tatak Gel Men’s Volleyball Team clashed with the determined squad of Calamba City in a battle for supremacy.

From the opening whistle, both teams showcased exceptional skill, discipline, and competitive fire. Calamba City came prepared with aggressive attacks and solid defensive formations, refusing to give Biñan any easy points. The energy inside the arena was electric, with every rally met by roaring cheers from supporters of both sides.

Despite the pressure of a championship setting, Biñan Tatak Gel displayed remarkable composure and teamwork. Their coordination on offense, sharp net play, and consistent service pressure gradually shifted the momentum in their favor. Key players stepped up during crucial exchanges, delivering powerful spikes, well-timed blocks, and smart tactical plays that broke Calamba’s rhythm.

Biñan set the tone early by taking control of the first set, using disciplined ex*****on and strong court awareness. They carried this momentum into the second set, where their confidence and precision became even more evident, widening the gap against their opponents. Although Calamba attempted to mount a comeback with aggressive plays and strategic adjustments, Biñan remained steady and focused.

In the final set, the Biñan squad sealed their dominance with unwavering determination, refusing to let the championship slip away. Their teamwork and resilience ultimately carried them to victory, as they secured the first, second, and deciding set of the match.

With this commanding performance, Biñan Tatak Gel Men’s Volleyball Team was officially crowned champions, marking a proud and hard-fought triumph that highlighted their discipline, unity, and championship mentality.

In line with its commitment to youth leadership and organizational development, the Biñan City Youth and Sports Development Office (YASDO) participated in the LSC The Courier Editorial Orientation and Team Building held at Lake Shore Colleges.

Representing YASDO were SK Rose Joy Balonzo and Mr. Andrew Aniceta, who facilitated meaningful discussions and engaging team-building activities centered on the importance of teamwork, collaboration, communication, and unity within an organization.

The activity aimed to strengthen camaraderie, trust, and leadership among the members of the editorial staff, empowering them to become more effective, responsible, and values-driven student leaders and campus journalists.

Through programs and activities like this, YASDO continues to support schools, youth organizations, and community-based groups in strengthening leadership, teamwork, communication, and organizational development among young people.

Schools and organizations interested in leadership sessions, seminars, orientations, and team-building activities may also coordinate and reach out to the Biñan City Youth and Sports Development Office for possible partnership and collaboration.

With the continuous support of Mayor Gel Alonte, the Sports Development Division of the Biñan City Youth and Sports Development Office, led by Coach Almer Almazora in partnership with the Biñan Strikers Football Academy, continues to empower and train the passionate youth of Biñan in the field of sports. Through regular training sessions and guided activities, young athletes are given the opportunity to further develop their skills, strengthen their discipline, and deepen their understanding of the game.

The program serves not only as a platform for athletic development but also as a meaningful avenue for building confidence, teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship among the participants. With the dedication of coaches, mentors, and local leaders, the initiative continues to inspire the youth to pursue their passion for sports while encouraging them to become active, responsible, and goal driven individuals.

As the training continues, these enthusiastic young athletes remain committed to improving themselves both physically and mentally. Their determination and hard work reflect the city’s strong commitment to nurturing future athletes who may one day bring pride and honor to Biñan through their talent and dedication in sports.

Sa pangunguna ni Mayor GEL Alonte at sa patuloy niyang pagpapalawak ng youth participation at development sa Lungsod ng Biñan, malugod na ipinadala ng Biñan Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) ang dalawang kinatawan nito — sina Gerald Kevin Bomalay ng Biñan Youth for DRRM at Michael Vincent Parba ng Biñan Youth Journalist Club — upang makilahok sa LYDC Youth Camp 2026 ng National Youth Commission para sa rehiyon ng CALABARZON.

Ipinagmamalaki rin na ang CALABARZON ang kauna-unahang rehiyon sa buong Pilipinas na nagsagawa ng LYDC Youth Camp ngayong taon. Sa pamamagitan ng mga sessions tungkol sa Positive Youth Development, 21st Century LYDC, Bridging Leadership, at Resource Mobilization, mas napalalim ang kaalaman ng mga kalahok sa youth leadership, collaboration, at advocacy work sa antas ng LGU.

Naging makabuluhan din ang camp bilang pagkakataon upang makapagbahaginan ng karanasan, best practices, at inspirasyon ang mga youth leaders mula sa iba’t ibang lungsod at bayan ng CALABARZON.

Through the leadership of Mayor Gel Alonte, spearheaded by the Gender and Development Office and the Biñan City Youth and Sports Development Office (YASDO), a consultation and coordination meeting was conducted together with the City Health Office, Ospital ng Biñan, and the City Social Welfare and Development Office regarding the implementation of the Purple Movement: KAMU Chatline Flow and Referral System.

The discussion focused on strengthening the referral system and establishing clear protocols on how Peer Support Volunteers (PSVs) will process inquiries, concerns, and initial psychosocial support through the KAMU Chatline platform. The meeting also emphasized proper coordination among partner offices to ensure timely referral, intervention, confidentiality, and appropriate support services for individuals who may need professional assistance related to mental health, psychosocial concerns, gender-related cases, and other youth welfare concerns.

The collaborative initiative aims to create a safer, more responsive, and youth-friendly support system where every Kabataang Biñanense feels guided, encouraged, and listened to.
