LGU-Biliran Observes First Monday of August with Flag Raising Ceremony and Monthly Mass

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Biliran officially commenced the month of August with a Flag Raising Ceremony followed by the Monthly Mass on Monday, August 3, bringing together municipal officials and employees in a meaningful observance of patriotism, unity, and faith.

The program began with the Flag Raising Ceremony, reaffirming the commitment of the local government workforce to uphold integrity, accountability, and excellence in the delivery of public service.

Following the ceremony, the Monthly Mass was celebrated to offer prayers of thanksgiving and seek God’s guidance, wisdom, and blessings for the month ahead. The religious observance served as an opportunity for municipal officials and employees to reflect on their shared mission of serving the people of Biliran with dedication and compassion.

The monthly gathering highlights the LGU’s commitment to fostering both civic responsibility and spiritual renewal among its workforce as it continues to deliver responsive and people-centered governance.

LGU-Biliran, CWL–Diocese of Naval Unite for Mangrove Planting and Coastal Clean-Up Activity

In support of the environmental conservation initiatives of the Catholic Women's League (CWL) – Diocese of Naval and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Biliran's commitment to environmental protection, climate resilience, and sustainable coastal resource management, a Mangrove Planting and Coastal Clean-Up Activity was successfully held on Friday, July 10, at the Municipal Eco-Park, Biliran, Biliran.

The activity brought together dedicated volunteers and stakeholders including the LGU's Department Heads, Rank-and-File Employees, Job Orders and Casual Employees and national agencies such as the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) who shared a common goal of protecting and rehabilitating our coastal ecosystems. Through the planting of mangroves and the clean-up drive, participants contributed to strengthening climate resilience, mitigating coastal erosion, enhancing marine biodiversity, and promoting environmental stewardship within the community.

LGU-Biliran Takes Part in Arbor Day 2026

The Local Government Unit of Biliran proudly participated in the nationwide observance of Philippine Arbor Day 2026 through a Mangrove Growing Activity spearheaded by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO)–Biliran on Thursday, June 25, at Barangay Burabod, Biliran, Biliran.

This meaningful initiative reaffirms the municipality’s commitment to environmental protection, sustainable development, and the preservation of natural resources, highlighting the collective responsibility of safeguarding the environment for future generations.

One flag. One nation. One Biliran. 🇵🇭🤍

United in pride and purpose, the LGU-Biliran family—from the elected officials and department heads to the dedicated rank-and-file employees, job order personnel, national agency representatives, and barangay officials—gathered at the Municipal Grounds today, June 12, 2026, to commemorate the 128th Philippine Independence Day and witness the solemn Flag Retirement Ceremony.

The commemoration began with a vibrant civic parade, followed by a meaningful program featuring the Flag Speaks, Lupang Hinirang, Citizen’s Reply, Panunumpa ng Katapatan sa Watawat, Bagong Pilipinas Hymn, Panunumpa ng Bagong Pilipinas, and Biliran Hymn.

Messages from municipal officials highlighted the significance of freedom, unity, and nation-building, culminating in the solemn Flag Retirement Ceremony and the Laying of Wreath for Dr. José Rizal.

GABI NG MANGGAGAWA ✨

Employees of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Biliran, together with the Local Government Officials led by Honorable Mayor Grace J. Casil and Honorable Vice Mayor Benedicto E.
