The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) tapped respected OPM industry partners in selecting its official hymn as part of the Bureau’s upcoming 122nd Anniversary Celebration in August, while also opening discussions on possible future collaboration to help promote tax education through music and creative engagement.

Last June 15, Ogie Alcasid met with members of the BIR Executive Committee, led by Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza, to announce the winning entry selected by the panel of judges composed of Mr. Alcasid, Gary Valenciano, and Paolo Benjamin Guico of Ben&Ben.

Mr. Alcasid praised the creativity and talent of the BIR employees who submitted their entries, noting the strong sense of pride, purpose, and public service reflected in the compositions. As head of OPM – Organisasyon ng mga Pilipinong Mang-Aawit, he also expressed willingness to support the BIR’s tax education efforts, including initiatives that would help promote tax awareness among OPM members.

Commissioner Mendoza said the BIR hymn is important not only as part of the Bureau’s anniversary, but also as a way to strengthen employee empowerment under the BIR DARES agenda and recognize the talents and creativity of BIR personnel.

β€œWe thank Mr. Ogie Alcasid and the panel of judges for sharing their time and expertise with the BIR Hymn Contest. We welcome the openness of OPM and our music industry partners to work with us in advancing tax education, and we look forward to partnering with OPM on tax awareness sessions tailored to the needs of the entertainment industry,” Commissioner Mendoza said.

The official BIR hymn will be launched during the Bureau’s anniversary celebration in August and will thereafter be included in the agency’s regular Monday flag-raising ceremonies, serving as a continuing reminder of the Bureau’s shared values, purpose, and commitment to public service.

Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Commissioner Charlito Martin R. Mendoza met with Department of Information and Communications Technology - DICT (DICT) Secretary Henry Rhoel R. Aguda on June 16, 2026, to strengthen coordination on current BIR digital initiatives and explore future collaboration on AI-assisted digital transformation.

Secretary Aguda expressed DICT’s readiness to help the BIR improve ongoing digital initiatives, including finalizing the Bureau’s onboarding to the National Single Window. He also presented modern AI-assisted development tools that may help speed up project development and drive broader system modernization, and offered a possible demonstration and training session.

Commissioner Mendoza welcomed DICT’s continued assistance, noting that closer inter-agency work will help advance the Bureau’s digitalization efforts in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to accelerate the digital transformation of government services and make them easier and more accessible.

β€œThe Digital TIN ID in the eGovPH App and our other ongoing initiatives with DICT show the value of sustained coordination, especially as Digital Transformation anchors the BIR DARES agenda. We welcome DICT’s continued assistance and look forward to further collaboration on technologies that can help accelerate project implementation in the years ahead,” Commissioner Mendoza said.

The Bureau of Internal Revenue invites you to participate in the public auction of seized vehicles on June 29, 2026 at the National Training Center Building, BIR National Office, Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago Ave., Diliman, Quezon City from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. All vehicles will be sold on an "AS IS, WHERE IS" basis. The highest bidder shall be awarded the vehicle subject to compliance with the prescribed auction procedures and requirements.
