IN PHOTOS | The Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU), led by University President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr., welcomed another batch of Japanese delegates from the Denryokusoren Fureai Seminar 2026 at the Board Room of the New Administration Building, Bayombong Campus, today.

Organized by the Japan Federation of Electric Power Workers’ Unions in collaboration with OISCA International, the initiative is part of the continuing partnership between NVSU and OISCA, which promotes environmental stewardship and strengthens cross-cultural understanding between Japan and the Philippines.

The 12 delegates will immerse themselves in Filipino culture through a homestay program, where they will experience local customs, cuisine, and daily life as they are warmly hosted by selected families in Nueva Vizcaya.

In his message, Dr. Dumale encouraged the delegates to fully enjoy the activities and embrace the Filipino way of life with their host families. He also emphasized that the program reflects the university’s continuing commitment to its partnership with OISCA, which aims to further promote environmental stewardship and cross-cultural understanding.

IN PHOTOS | Today's Flag Raising Ceremony was sponsored by the Internal Audit Unit and Legal Unit at the Bayombong Campus and the Administrative Services Division, and Human Resource Management Unit at the Bambang Campus.

In his message, University President Dr. Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr. highlighted the ongoing preparations for the opening of classes, particularly the readiness of facilities and services to ensure a conducive learning environment for students.

He also reminded faculty, staff, and students of the proper and responsible use of social media, encouraging everyone to consume content that uplifts and inspires rather than dwell on negativity.

President Dumale emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive mindset despite the challenges and circumstances around us.

“Tayo sa Higher Education, we are creating the future. Tayo ang dapat kakitaan ng mga estudyante ng maayos na values at maayos na pagseserbisyo,” Dr. Dumale emphasized.

𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐄𝐕𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 | Authenticity, leadership, and representation take center stage as Queen NVSU 2026 Maxine E. Gammad shares her journey as one of the featured ACHIEVE students in celebration of the 32nd Anniversary of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

An Environmental Science student, Maxine’s story goes beyond academic excellence. It is shaped by advocacy, lived identity, and a commitment to inclusion—reflecting how higher education continues to embrace diverse voices and experiences.

As a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, she sees her identity as a source of strength that guides her leadership and service within the university. Through challenges, growth, and meaningful milestones—including her crowning moment as Queen NVSU 2026—Maxine continues to champion visibility, resilience, and representation on campus.

For her, education is not only about achievement, but also about using one’s voice to inspire change.

Students, faculty members, staff of Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) and Japanese partners took part in a tree-planting activity under the OISCA Furusato Green Wave 2026 OTTAA Reforestation Project held in Barangay Kirang, Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya, reinforcing collective action for environmental protection and climate resilience, June 4.

The activity forms part of The Green Wave, a global biodiversity campaign spearheaded by OISCA International, which promotes environmental awareness and encourages communities, especially the youth, to actively participate in the protection and preservation of nature.

With the theme “Acting Locally for Global Impact,” participants planted forest tree species including hardwood varieties such as sagat, molave, and narra.

The seedlings were provided through the support of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources office in Aritao, highlighting continued collaboration between academic institutions and environmental agencies in advancing reforestation efforts.

CHEDRO II Call for FY 2026 SIKAP Scholarship Applications

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office II (CHEDRO II) is now accepting full-time and part-time applications for the Scholarships for Staff and Instructors' Knowledge Advancement Program (SIKAP) for Fiscal Year 2026.
The SIKAP Scholarship supports the professional development of qualified HEI teaching and non-teaching personnel through graduate studies to continuously enhance the quality of higher education.

Application Details
How to Apply: Submit applications via the official SIKAP Portal at sikap.ched.gov.ph/login.

Delivering Institution: Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) is an approved Partner Delivering Higher Education Institution (DHEI). Please see the attached list for its corresponding SIKAP-approved graduate programs.

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 7722, or the Higher Education Act of 1994, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) marks its 32nd Anniversary with a month-long celebration that unites all Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) nationwide.

In line with CHED Memorandum Order No. 177, s. 2026, the Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) joins the nationwide advocacy campaign in celebrating this milestone, highlighting the diverse stories of our students and strengthening inclusive education for all.

As part of the celebration, NVSU proudly supports the theme:

Nueva Vizcaya State University (NVSU) proudly supports the initiative of the Association of DOST Scholars – Nueva Vizcaya State University (ADS-NVSU) in empowering aspiring scholars.

All interested applicants for the BEST FOR IP Scholarship Program are highly encouraged to participate in the scheduled review session on June 13, 2026. This activity is designed to provide focused preparation, helpful tips, and academic guidance to strengthen your chances of successfully qualifying for the scholarship.

To accommodate more aspiring scholars, the online registration period—originally set from May 4 to June 5, 2026—will be extended. This extension ensures that more students can take advantage of this free online review session, which aims to enhance participants’ knowledge, skills, and readiness for the scholarship process.

Through this initiative, ADS-NVSU reaffirms its commitment to supporting and empowering Indigenous Peoples (IP) students by offering accessible and meaningful academic assistance.
