The Month of Pride has finally arrived—an impeccable celebration of acceptance, equality, and inclusivity—with uplifting stories among different genders worldwide.

Nowadays, the LGBTQIA+ community has endured a variety of struggles for fairness including discrimination, harassment, and violence. Amidst all those witnessed injustices, they never lost sight of their path and proudly chose to raise their flags and voices.

“Para it is a-tay!”—a witty line from the movie, which is a translation of “for it to be a tie!” Indeed, the dialogue aimed not only to add humor to the scene but also to unveil the real meaning. As we celebrate with our LGBTQIA+ community, we should continue to establish a comprehensive and welcoming environment that lasts beyond every month—UPANG ANG LAHAT AY PANTAY-PANTAY!

Ultimately, Pride Month is not just a one-time event. Wherever destiny takes you, be proud of what you have conquered, continue to be empowered, and never feel reluctant about making decisions for yourself. Just like in the movie Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy, Vice Ganda is truly a striking example of embodying one's authentic self.

Continue to bloom like a flower—do not stay confined inside those rooms; open your doors and show everyone how resilient you are. Maging totoo sa iyong pagkatao!

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 2026 PEAC INSET echo session fortifies MWAI Faculty preparation for boosted SHS Curriculum

The High School Department of Muir Woods Academy, Inc. (MWAI) spearheaded an echo seminar prior to the rollout of the strengthened Senior High School (SHS) curriculum, emphasizing the exchange of educational methods, experiences, and key insights from the 2026 PEAC INSET for SHS Teachers, May 28.

Participating MWAI faculty members revisited and presented their insights, observations, and experiences from a three-day training conducted during this month at Saint Paul University Philippines, which was attended by Teacher Kyno John Valenzuela, Teacher Ralph Lagrio, Teacher Jonver Manipon, Teacher Raynalie Dispo, Teacher Abigail Rulona-Temblor, and Teacher Shawna Ashlyne Hernaez.

Guided by the theme “Implementing the Strengthened Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum,” the session sought to emphasize significant discussions from the seminar while encouraging the teachers to integrate responsive and teaching practices focusing on students.

The program further tackled the areas of similarities and distinctions between the previous and strengthened SHS curriculum, notably in recognizing vital learning competencies, revising curriculum implementation, and delivering core and specialized subjects using various teaching techniques.

Subsequently, the educators explored several strategies in evaluating student performance through results driven assessment approach intended to improve analytical skills, active participation, and meaningful learning experiences among students.

MWAI teachers carried out the opportunity to exchange ideas and reflect on progressive instructional and evaluation practices that could contribute to better academic performance and reinforce the successful implementation of the strengthened SHS curriculum within the school community throughout this academic year.

𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗦 | R2 jins nab silver at team poomsae Palarong Pambansa tilt

Region II’s phenomenal taekwondo prodigies Noward Hlway Q. Enriquez, Xian Gabriel V. Gamata, and Kriztian Aldrizch M. Elesterio secured a second-podium finish in the Secondary Boys Team Poomsae event at the Palarong Pambansa 2026 held at the Bayugan City Convention Center in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur, May 27.

Gamata and Enriquez, both representing Nueva Vizcaya and Muir Woods Academy, showcased strong coordination and precision throughout their performance at the national stage.

Region II delivered a strong and composed performance, finishing second overall with a score of 8.467, just behind Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) which topped the event with 8.55. National Academy of Sports (NAS) followed closely in third place with 8.434.

Moving forward, Gamata and Enriquez aim to bounce back stronger in the next school year, building better consistency in their performances ahead of future competitions.

𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗦 | R2’s jin Gamata collars gold title at 2026 Palarong Pambansa

Cagayan Valley’s jin Xian Gabriel V. Gamata brought pride to the region after bagging the gold medal in the Secondary Boys Individual Poomsae category, underscoring his individual excellence at the Palarong Pambansa 2026 held at the Bayugan City Convention Center in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur, May 27.

“First time ko mag gold sa Palaro, masaya ang aking pakiramdam at ipagpatuloy ko ang aking paghihirap at pagsasacrifice para sa susunod,” said Gamata, emphasizing his commitment to achieving greater success in future competitions.

He shared that earning his first Palaro gold brought him great joy and inspired him to stay focused, continue training, and keep pushing through challenges as he prepares for future tournaments.

Region II secured the gold medal with a score of 8.767, while Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) and National Capital Region (NCR) both earned silver and bronze medals, respectively, after posting identical scores of 8.750.

Looking back at his performance during the previous season of Palarong Pambansa, he secured a second-place finish in the same category.

His breakthrough victory this year marks a significant improvement in his performance, highlighting his growth, dedication, and consistency as one of the promising athletes in his division, and also bringing pride to MWAI.

Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is a significant celebration observed by Muslims around the world on the 10th day of Dhul-Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic calendar. This occasion also marks the culmination of the Hajj pilgrimage.

This blessed event commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command.

Furthermore, Eid al-Adha is a time for visiting family and friends, exchanging gifts, and extending compassion to communities in need—ensuring that everyone feels included in the celebration.

Together, as a transforming and empowering generation, we join in this meaningful celebration. May life’s challenges and weary moments be replaced with God’s gracious blessings.

𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗧𝗟𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 | MWAI Alumna Jerianne Sanchez claims 2nd Runner-Up Crown Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya 2026

Muir Woods Academy, Inc. (MWAI) 2026 alumna and former Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) Chairperson, Jerianne Zhanely DL Sanchez, placed 2nd Runner-Up at Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya 2026, proudly carrying the municipality of Bayombong—May 21.

During the Question and Answer segment, Sanchez expressed her clarity of thought and meaningful perspective on literature and modern technology, notably her discussion on the responsible use of artificial intelligence, drawing from her background as a campus journalist.

“As a campus journalist myself, we have been taught different ways of ethical guidelines when it comes to publishing, crafting, and making stories available to the masses,” Sanchez stated as she mentioned that these principles intersect with accuracy, justice, and integrity—remaining essential to enrich stories and ensure ethics in the use of artificial intelligence.

“And with this, I do believe that we could be able to enrich literature through the use of artificial intelligence,” she further added, noting the potential of AI in expanding literature to a greater audience.

Moreover, Sanchez underscored how inspiration from literary figures such as National Artist Edith L. Tiempo continues to shape young writers, indicating that storytelling remains a powerful tool for preserving culture and strengthening cohesion and identity of communities, especially in Nueva Vizcaya.

Through Sanchez’s determination and resilience, her remarkable achievement emphasizes her grace and elegance, as well as her ability to carry herself with confidence under pressure, allowing her to secure the prestigious title.

Proudly representing Bayombong, Jerianne Zhanely DL Sanchez earned her place in the Top 5 and gracefully finished as the 2nd Runner-Up in the Saniata ti Nueva Vizcaya 2026 held on May 21 at CMP Convention Center.

During the Final Q&A portion, Jerianne spoke with poise, confidence, and sincerity— reflecting not only her intelligence and grace, but also the values and strength of the people she proudly represented.

Her remarkable journey on the Saniata stage proved that Bayombong truly belongs among the finest. More than the title she earned, she became a symbol of empowered leadership, dignity, and inspiration to many young Novo Vizcayanos.

The pack, your SSLG family, and the entire Municipality of Bayombong are incredibly proud of you, Jerianne Sanchez. Congratulations on this meaningful achievement, and thank you for representing our community with excellence and heart.
