The Bayog Municipal Fire Station (MFS) reminds everyone to practice fire safety at home, in the workplace, and in the community.

Check electrical connections, cook safely, keep flammable materials away from heat, maintain fire extinguishers, and always have an emergency escape plan.

Be alert. Be prepared. Be fire safe.

FIRE SAFETY TIPS | LPG GAS SMELLS BAD — WHAT TO DO?

LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is odorized with a strong smell, similar to rotten eggs, to help you detect a gas leak.

IF YOU SMELL LPG GAS:

1. OPEN WINDOWS AND DOORS
Allow fresh air to ventilate the area.

2. TURN OFF THE GAS
Close the LPG tank valve and regulator, if it is safe to do so.

3. DON’T TURN ANYTHING ON OR OFF
Avoid electrical switches, appliances, or anything that may create a spark.

4. DON’T USE YOUR PHONE INSIDE
Go outside first before calling for help.

5. LEAVE THE AREA
Evacuate everyone to a safe location.

6. CALL FOR HELP
Report the leak to your gas provider or contact the fire department.

📍 Barangay Balukbahan, Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur
The Bureau of Fire Protection Region IX, under the leadership of FSSUPT KADIL T ACALUL, DSC, Acting Regional Director, with the supervision of FSUPT LUCIO P ALBARACIN, DSC, Provincial Fire Marshal, and through the Bayog Municipal Fire Station Shift A personnel, led by SFO4 ARNIL S. MIANO, MPA, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, successfully conducted Fire Safety On Demand during the 2-DAY BARANGAY TANOD TRAINING initiated by the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) at Barangay Balukbahan, Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur.

As part of the Fire Safety On Demand program, BFP Bayog MFS conducted a Fire Safety session for the Barangay Tanods from Barangays Balukbahan, Sigacad, and Matin-ao, focusing on essential knowledge and practices in fire prevention, fire safety, emergency preparedness, and proper response during fire-related incidents.

The activity aims to equip Barangay Tanods with practical fire safety knowledge, enabling them to become more capable frontline partners in protecting lives, property, and their communities from the threat of fire.

Through Fire Safety On Demand, the BFP continues to bring fire safety education closer to the community—because fire safety is everyone’s responsibility. 🔥🧯

Nakikiisa ang Bureau of Fire Protection Region 9 sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni FSSUPT KADIL T ACALUL, DSC, Acting Regional Director sa paggunita ng Pambansang Araw ng mga Bayani.

Ngayong araw, ating parangalan ang mga bayaning nag-alay ng kanilang lakas, panahon at buhay para sa kapwa at sa bayang sinilangan.

Sa bawat sakripisyo, may kuwentong hindi malilimutan. Sa bawat tapang, may buhay na naililigtas. At sa bawat taong handang magsilbi para sa bayan—naroon ang tunay na bayani.

Saludo ang BFP Region 9 sa lahat ng BAYANI ng ating bayan.

The Bureau of Fire Protection Region IX, under the leadership of FSSUPT KADIL T ACALUL, DSC, Acting Regional Director, with the supervision of FSUPT LUCIO P ALBARACIN, DSC, Provincial Fire Marshal, and through the Bayog Municipal Fire Station Shift A personnel, led by SFO4 ARNIL S. MIANO, MPA, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, successfully conducted an orientation on the School Emergency Response Plan (SERP) at Kahayagan Elementary School, Bayog, Zamboanga del Sur.

The activity aimed to strengthen the preparedness and awareness of school personnel and community members by equipping them with the necessary knowledge and proper response procedures during emergencies and disasters. The orientation emphasized the importance of developing and implementing an effective School Emergency Response Plan to ensure the safety and protection of students, teachers, school personnel, and other stakeholders.

Through this initiative, the Bureau of Fire Protection remains committed to strengthening disaster preparedness, building resilient communities, and promoting a culture of safety and preparedness in educational institutions.

The Fire Square Challenge aims to enhance participants’ knowledge and awareness of basic fire safety practices while emphasizing the vital role of the Bureau of Fire Protection in safeguarding lives and properties. Through this activity, participants are encouraged to develop the knowledge, confidence, and preparedness necessary to respond appropriately and safely during fire emergencies.
