Baybay City Water District This is the official page of the Baybay City Water District, Baybay City, Leyte Philippines The BWD is a Government Owned and Controlled Corporation.

Baybay Water District (BWD) was formed on July 15, 1976 through the passage of Sanguniang Bayan Resolution No. 60 of the Municipality of Baybay pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 198 otherwise known as the "Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973." As a consequence, the BWD was issued a Conditional Certificate of Conformance No.039 by the Local Water Utilities Administration (LWUA) on May 4, 1977

after the requirements were duly complied with. The water system of Baybay was originally constructed in 1924, utilizing water from the Busay Spring in Barangay Patag. At present, the water sources are from Barangay Patag and Baranagy Villa Mag-aso distributed by gravity to its service area covering a total of thirty-nine (39) Barangays, consisting of 16 Barangays (23) zone in the Poblacion or Approximately (42%) of the 92 Barangays of Baybay, Leyte. It revenues and resources are derived from the acquired services rendered to its concessionaires.

The 10th Regular Board Meeting of the Baybay City Water District was successfully held on May 29, 2026, focusing on important matters, operational updates, and strategic plans aimed at further improving the Districtโ€™s services and operations for the benefit of the people of Baybay City.

Present during the meeting were the ever-supportive members of the Board of Directors headed by Chairperson Atty. Eden C. Butawan, together with Dir. Elmer Diaz, Dir. Ramonina Apas, and Dir. Helcon Dela Torre, alongside the ever-active General Manager Ruel Salasayo

In the afternoon, General Manager Salasayo attended an appointment meeting with Engr. Patrick Postrero of the City Planning Office regarding matters relevant to the Districtโ€™s ongoing projects and development plans. Thereafter, he conducted a random inspection at the Hibunawan Drilling Area to monitor the status and progress of operations on-site.

We extend our sincere appreciation to everyone for their unwavering dedication and commitment in ensuring quality, efficient, and reliable water service for the people of Baybay City.
