We currently rank first among Philippine universities with 50–99 Scopus outputs in 2026, with 97 Scopus outputs this year and an overall total of 880, as of October 17, according to Global Health Focus (GHF) University Excellence.

This achievement proves that our homegrown researchers produce quality studies in international circulation, attesting to the respect and recognition given the University globally.

We celebrate 29 new fisheries professionals who passed the October 2026 Fisheries Professionals Licensure Examination. Visayas State University Tolosa recorded a 76.32% overall passing rate, surpassing the national rate of 69.02%.

The Visayas State University, through the Center for Continuing Education and the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Office, invites engineers, geologists, students, and other interested professionals to join our upcoming webinar on “Advances in Geotechnical Engineering: Innovative Approaches to Problematic Soils” on November 4, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM via Zoom.

This learning opportunity will feature distinguished resource speakers, Engr. John Allan A. Gulles of the Department of Civil Engineering, Visayas State University, and Mr. Haggeo Perez, Licensed Geologist from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, who will share their knowledge and insights on innovative geotechnical approaches, including diagnostic geophysics and biomediated ground improvement (MICP). Participants will gain valuable insights into emerging techniques and practical solutions for addressing challenging soil conditions.

The webinar is approved for 7 CPD points for geologists and 2 CPD points for civil engineers. Registration fees are ₱350 for professionals and ₱200 for students. Interested participants may scan the QR code on the poster to register and secure their slots.
