DOH-FDA ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE USE OF IVERMECTIN FOR COVID-19 PATIENTS | 26 March 2021
To date, the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) HAS NOT received any application for the use of Ivermectin for COVID-19 treatment under the Compassionate Special Permit.
The public is STRONGLY ADVISED AGAINST the purchase and use of Ivermectin veterinary products for the treatment of COVID-19. At present, Ivermectin veterinary products are only approved for use in the prevention of heartworm disease and treatment of internal and external parasites in certain animal species.
