Baybay City, Leyte – September 14, 2026 — Baybay City Fire Station personnel, under the leadership of acting City Fire Marshal OIC SFO3 Julius T Matillano attended the Traditional Monday Flag Raising Ceremony. Thereafter, a formal turnover of duties and responsibilities and monthly meeting was conducted between the outgoing and incoming duty personnel. NATIONWIDE SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL (NSED)

Baybay City, Leyte - 10 September 2026 - The personnel of the Baybay City Fire Station, headed by SFO3 Julius T Matillano, Acting City Fire Marshal, conducted and evaluated the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) participated in by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA).

The activity aimed to assess the preparedness, response capabilities, and coordination of personnel during earthquake scenarios, while reinforcing the importance of “Duck, Cover, and Hold”, emergency evacuation procedures, and effective incident response.

The Baybay City Fire Station remains committed to strengthening disaster preparedness and promoting a safe, resilient, and disaster-ready community through continuous training, drills, and evaluation.
