As of 8:00 AM today, 04 September 2026, the Tropical Depression “SAUDEL” (formerly “OBET”) OUTSIDE the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has dissipated.
Meanwhile, the Tropical Depression (formerly LPA 09a) is being monitored OUTSIDE the PAR.
All are advised to monitor updates from PAGASA-DOST.

As of 8:00 AM today, 04 September 2026, the LPA 08k (formerly “SAUDEL”/“OBET”) OUTSIDE the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has dissipated.

Meanwhile, the Tropical Depression (formerly LPA 09a) is being monitored OUTSIDE the PAR.

SYNOPSIS: Southwest Monsoon affecting Luzon and Visayas.

FORECAST:

Occidental Mindoro, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, Antique, Iloilo, and Guimaras will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon.

The rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to Southwest Monsoon.

Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro will experience moderate to strong winds from the Southwest with moderate to rough seas.

PAGTAYA:

Ang Occidental Mindoro, Palawan kabilang ang Kalayaan Islands, Antique, Iloilo, at Guimaras ay makararanas ng maulap na kalangitan na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at mga pagkulog at pagkidlat dahil sa Habagat.

Ang nalalabing bahagi ng Visayas ay makararanas ng bahagyang maulap hanggang maulap na kalangitan na may mga panaka-nakang pag-ulan o pagkulog at pagkidlat dahil sa Habagat.

Ang Visayas, Palawan kabilang ang mga Isla ng Kalayaan, at Occidental Mindoro ay makararanas ng katamtaman hanggang malakas na hangin mula sa Timog-Kanluran, habang magiging katamtaman hanggang maalon ang karagatan.

As of 2:00 AM today, 04 September 2026, the Tropical Depression “SAUDEL” (formerly “OBET”) being monitored OUTSIDE the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has weakened into a Low Pressure Area (LPA 08k) and is UNLIKELY to redevelop into a Tropical Depression within the next 24 hours .

Meanwhile, the Tropical Depression (formerly LPA 09a) is also being monitored OUTSIDE the PAR.

All are advised to monitor updates from PAGASA-DOST.

VISAYAS GRID ALERT STATUS as of 3 SEPTEMBER 2026, 10:30PM

Red alert for Visayas grid lifted

As of 10:17PM, red alert has been lifted by NGCP for the Visayas grid.

Available capacity - 2,327MW
Peak demand - 2,250MW

However, the Visayas grid is still on Yellow Alert until 11PM.

A yellow alert is issued when the operating margin is insufficient to meet the transmission grid's contingency requirement.

As of 2:00 PM today, 3 September 2026, LPA 08m has dissipated.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm “PILANDOK” and Tropical Storm “SAUDEL” (formerly “OBET”) are being monitored OUTSIDE the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Additionally, a Low Pressure area (LPA 09a) is also being monitored OUTSIDE the PAR and has a "MEDIUM" potential of developing into tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

All are advised to monitor updates from PAGASA-DOST.
