The Maritime Safety Services Unit โ Southern Tagalog (MSSU-STL) facilitated the ๐๐ง-๐ญ๐ก๐-๐๐จ๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐ (๐๐๐) ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ฆ๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ญ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐ (๐๐๐๐) ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐๐-๐๐๐๐, providing trainees with practical exposure to the core maritime safety functions of the Coast Guard Maritime Safety Services Command (MSSC).

Trainees were exposed to the actual inspection process, including engagement with resort owners and management, verification of safety measures and equipment, and discussion of applicable Philippine Coast Guard Memorandum Circulars and recreational safety requirements. The activity emphasized the importance of direct coordination and effective safety communication with stakeholders in ensuring the protection of beachgoers and recreational water users.

The successful conduct of this OJT demonstrates MSSU-STL's capability and commitment to developing competent maritime safety professionals through the effective transfer of operational knowledge and field expertise. By opening its operational environment to trainees and sharing established practices in maritime safety enforcement, inspection, emergency response, navigational safety, and technical maintenance, the Unit contributes to building a stronger and more capable maritime safety workforce.
Through actual field exposure and hands-on learning, the Maritime Safety Basic Course Class 08-2026 emerged from the training better equipped with practical knowledge, technical understanding, and operational awareness, capabilities essential in carrying out maritime safety functions with competence, discipline, and confidence.
