Contaminated water sources from climate impacts are putting children at risk.

As climate impacts intensify, water systems are disrupted, making it harder for families to access safe drinking water and increasing the spread of waterborne diseases. For many children, this means greater exposure to preventable illness.

TINGNI: Ipinasa ng mga myembro ng Sangguniang Panlungsod ng Batangas ngayong araw ang isang ordinansa na inaatasan ang lahat ng Animal Bite Treatment Centers at Animal Bite Centers sa Batangas City na magkaroon ng akreditasyon mula sa Department of Health (DOH) bago makakuha o makapag-renew ng kanilang business permit.

Ang ordinansa ay iniakda ng Chairperson ng Committee on Health ng Konseho na si Councilor Jonash Tolentino, upang matiyak na ligtas, maayos, at dekalidad ang serbisyong ibinibigay ng mga animal bite treatment center sa mga pasyente.

Sa ilalim ng โ€œBatangas City Animal Bite Treatment Center Regulation Ordinance,โ€ saklaw nito ang lahat ng Animal Bite Treatment Centers at Animal Bite Centers na nag-aapply para sa bago o renewal ng business permit sa lungsod.

Alinsunod ito sa Republic Act No. 9482 at DOH Administrative Order No. 2013-0004, kung saan kinakailangang magpakita ng valid DOH accreditation ang mga nasabing pasilidad bago pahintulutang mag-operate.

Nakasaad din sa ordinansa na magsasagawa ng regular na monitoring at inspeksyon ang City Health Office (CHO) o Provincial Health Office (PHO) nang hindi bababa sa isang beses kada taon upang matiyak na patuloy na sumusunod ang mga pasilidad sa itinakdang pamantayan ng DOH.

Layunin ng ordinansa na maprotektahan ang kalusugan ng publiko at masiguro ang maayos na paggamot sa mga biktima ng kagat ng hayop, lalo na laban sa rabies at iba pang panganib na dulot nito. (PIO Batangas City)

The inspection of resorts and bathing places in Batangas City is conducted to ensure the safety, sanitation, and compliance of establishments with existing public health and environmental regulations. This activity aims to protect public health by monitoring the quality of swimming pools, beach areas, comfort rooms, food preparation areas, water supply, wastewater disposal systems, and overall cleanliness of the facilities.

Establishments found compliant are issued the necessary recommendations or sanitary clearances, while those with noted violations are advised to undertake corrective measures within the prescribed period.

The regular inspection of resorts and bathing places helps promote safe tourism, prevent waterborne diseases, and maintain a healthy environment for both residents and visitors in Batangas City.
