𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐚 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐎𝐀 𝐎𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐧

𝐁𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐃, 𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐨 — Under the leadership of Mayor Elvira P. Alarcon, the Municipality of Batad has once again earned an Unmodified Opinion from the Commission on Audit (COA) for its 2025 Financial Statements, marking the municipality's second consecutive year of receiving the highest audit opinion following its 2024 achievement.

The recognition underscores the municipal government's continued commitment to transparency, accountability, sound financial management, and good governance in the delivery of public services.

Mayor Alarcon attributed the accomplishment to the collective efforts of the local government workforce and emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards in fiscal responsibility and public service.

The mayor also expressed her gratitude to Vice Mayor Steven Michael Y. Andrada, department heads, municipal employees, and stakeholders for their dedication, cooperation, and unwavering support, which contributed to the municipality's continued success in achieving excellence in financial governance.

The Local Government Unit of Batad, headed by Hon. Elvira P. Alarcon and Vice Mayor Steven Michael Y. Andrada, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), in collaboration with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Batad, provided Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) beneficiaries on June 18, 2026 to assist MENRO in the unloading of seedlings hauled from Maasin, Iloilo last June 17, 2026.

These seedlings will be utilized for the upcoming Tanom BSPO on June 25, 2026 and the Provincewide Tanom Iloilo on June 27, 2026, in celebration of Provincial Arbor Day. This initiative underscores the commitment of LGU Batad to environmental protection, reforestation efforts, and youth engagement through meaningful community participation.

Together, let us continue planting seeds of hope for a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future for Batad and the Province of Iloilo.

Today, we gather to celebrate the 128th Philippine Independence Day with the theme: “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.”

Sa araw na ito, hindi lamang natin ginugunita ang ating kasarinlan bilang bansa. Inaalala rin natin ang katapangan at sakripisyo ng ating mga bayani na nagbuwis ng kanilang buhay upang makamit natin ang kalayaang tinatamasa natin ngayon.

Because of their courage, we stand here today as proud Filipinos.

Ngunit mga kababayan, ang kalayaan ay hindi lamang tungkol sa ating nakaraan. Ito rin ay tungkol sa ating pananagutan sa kasalukuyan at sa kinabukasan ng susunod na henerasyon.

Freedom lives in the everyday struggles and sacrifices of ordinary Filipinos.

Makikita natin ito sa bawat magulang na walang sawang nagtatrabaho para sa pamilya.
Sa bawat g**o na humuhubog sa kinabukasan ng kabataan.

Sa bawat magsasaka, manggagawa, kawani ng gobyerno, pulis, bomber, sundalo, at health workers na patuloy na naglilingkod kahit nahaharap sa hirap at panganib.

And it lives in every Filipino who refuses to give up, no matter how hard life becomes.

Bilang mga Pilipino, marami na tayong pinagdaanan bilang isang bansa. Dumaan tayo sa digmaan, sakuna, pandemya, at iba’t ibang pagsubok. Ngunit nananatili tayong matatag dahil likas sa Pilipino ang pagiging matibay, mapagmahal, at may malasakit sa kapwa.

Our history teaches us that no challenge is greater than a united Filipino people.

At bilang inyong Mayor, naniniwala ako na ang tunay na pagmamahal sa bayan ay hindi lamang ipinapakita sa salita kundi sa gawa. Sa simpleng pagtulong sa kapwa. Sa pagiging tapat at responsable. Sa pagrespeto sa batas at sa ating kapwa Pilipino.

Mga kababayan, ang kinabukasan ng ating bayan ay nasa ating mga kamay. Nasa kabataan na nangangarap. Nasa bawat mamamayang nagsisikap araw-araw upang magkaroon ng mas maayos na buhay.

Sa pagdiriwang nating ito, nawa’y manatili sa ating puso ang pagmamahal sa bayan at ang pagpapahalaga sa kalayaang ipinaglaban ng ating mga ninuno.

May we continue to move forward with courage, unity, and pride as one Filipino nation.

Mabuhay ang ating mga bayani.
Mabuhay ang sambayanang Pilipino.
At mabuhay ang ating mahal na Pilipinas.
