FO2 Andrew Miguel J Ramirez and FO1 Jayvee J Dacuno paid a courtesy call to 𝐅𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐖𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐋𝐀𝐎 𝐏 𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐐𝐔𝐄 𝐉𝐑, Municipal Fire Marshal of Basey Fire Station. Both personnel will now join the ranks of Basey Fire Station, further strengthening the station’s capability in delivering efficient and responsive public service to the community.

RETOOLED COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROGRAM

Basey Fire Station personnel, headed by FSINSP WENCESLAO P AVORQUE JR, Municipal Fire Marshal, actively participated in the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) conducted at Brgy. Balud, Basey, Samar. The activity gathered various government agencies and community stakeholders with the objective of strengthening the partnership between the government and the local community through the delivery of essential services and community-based programs.

As part of the activity, BFP personnel extended support by promoting fire safety awareness, disaster preparedness, and community involvement in emergency response initiatives. The activity also served as an avenue to educate residents on the importance of fire prevention, vigilance, and cooperation during emergencies and calamities.

Through its participation in the RCSP, Basey Fire Station continues to uphold its commitment in supporting community development programs and maintaining strong collaboration with partner agencies and barangay officials in ensuring the safety and welfare of the public.

PUBLIC FIRE EDUCATION / FIRST AID LECTURE

Under the leadership of FSINSP WENCESLAO P AVORQUE JR, Municipal Fire Marshal, personnel of Basey Fire Station conducted a Public Fire Education and First Aid Lecture at Basey Pointee 4, Brgy. San Antonio, Basey, Samar for the water concessionaire of E&V Water and Life Philippines Inc.

The activity aimed to enhance the participants’ awareness and preparedness in fire safety, emergency response, and basic first aid procedures. Fire personnel demonstrated proper fire suppression techniques and discussed the importance of safety measures during emergencies to ensure the protection of lives and property.

EMS RESPONSE

Basey Fire Station EMS Team, headed by FSINSP WENCESLAO P AVORQUE JR, Municipal Fire Marshal, responded to a vehicular accident that transpired at Brgy. Anglit, Basey, Samar.

Upon arrival at the scene, responders noted one male victim who sustained lacerations due to the incident. The EMS team immediately administered first aid treatment and safely transported the victim to Basey District Hospital for further medical attention.

COASTAL CLEAN-UP ACTIVITY

Under the leadership of FSINSP WENCESLAO P AVORQUE JR, Municipal Fire Marshal, personnel of Basey Fire Station actively participated in the Coastal Clean-Up Drive conducted at Brgy. San Antonio, Basey, Samar on 22 May 2026, in line in the Celebration of International Day for Biological Diversity and Month of the Ocean with the theme "Acting locally for global impact" and "Sustaining Ocean Health, Sailing a Resilient Nation".

The activity aimed to promote environmental protection, coastal preservation, and community awareness on the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy ecosystem. Through collective efforts, participants helped remove waste materials along the coastal area, contributing to the protection of marine life and the conservation of biodiversity.

This initiative reflects the continuing commitment of the Bureau of Fire Protection not only in ensuring public safety but also in supporting environmental sustainability and community development.

CULMINATION ACTIVITY
15 MAY 2026

Under the supervision of FCSUPT ALDWIN M Salazar, DSC, Regional Director, BFP R8, personnel from the Regional Office of the Bureau of Fire Protection Region 8, together with the Special Rescue Force (SRF), joined the personnel of the Basey Fire Station headed by FSINSP WENCESLAO P AVORQUE JR, Municipal Fire Marshal, in attending the culmination activity of the Bayani Challenge spearheaded by Gawad Kalinga.

The activity showcased the spirit of bayanihan and unity among participating agencies, volunteers, and stakeholders in the Municipality of Basey. Also present during the event was Hon. Luz Chu-Ponferrada, Local Chief Executive, whose support greatly contributed to the success of the program.

The participation of the Bureau of Fire Protection highlights its commitment not only to public safety and emergency response but also to community engagement and humanitarian initiatives that promote resilience, cooperation, and nation-building.

The Basey Fire Station, under the leadership of FSINSP Wenceslao P Avorque Jr., Municipal Fire Marshal, successfully conducted a First-Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) Training for the Gawad Kalinga youth participants of BAYANI CHALLENGE 2026 at Brgy. Tinaogan, Basey, Samar.

The activity aimed to enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills in providing immediate medical assistance and proper emergency response during accidents and other emergencies. Through this training, the youth participants were equipped with basic lifesaving techniques that may help save lives and strengthen community preparedness during emergency situations.
