The Local Youth Development Office of Barotac Nuevo headed by our Youth Development Officer III Mrs. Roanne Teruel Padua together with SKMF President Hon. Rica Pama and YDO staff Mr. Jovil Seguia proudly participated in the first Bida Kabataang Ilonggo Provincial Youth Convergence, a meaningful gathering that empowered young leaders, youth workers, and advocates from across the province to connect, collaborate, and inspire one another.

Through learning sessions, meaningful discussions, and networking opportunities, we have gained valuable insights that will help us become more effective leaders and changemakers.

𝘾𝙃𝙄𝙇𝘿 𝘼𝙉𝘿 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙏𝙃 𝘿𝙀𝙑𝙀𝙇𝙊𝙋𝙈𝙀𝙉𝙏 𝘾𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙀𝙍 𝙎𝙊𝙊𝙉 𝙏𝙊 𝙍𝙄𝙎𝙀 𝙄𝙉 𝙄𝙇𝙊𝙄𝙇𝙊

The Office of the Local Youth Development Officer (LYDO) of Iloilo Province has unveiled plans for a ₱5-million, two-story Child and Youth Development Center (CYDC) that will soon be established in communities across the province.

The facility will serve a dual purpose. Its ground floor will function as a day care center for early childhood development programs, while the second floor will serve as an office and meeting space for Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials and youth organizations.

According to LYDO Head Shiela Mae Tuares, the project was conceptualized in response to the needs expressed by youth leaders during consultations conducted across municipalities and barangays in Iloilo.

"Sa pag libot naton sa mga probinsiya kag kabarangayan, naka-engage kita sa aton mga youth leaders kag naga hambal sila nga nami daad nga may ara man kami lugar, so this is the response of the Iloilo Provincial Government nga ma buligan ang mga kabataan nga ma plastar sila kag mas maka-focus sila kung paano mag plano kag maghimo sang mas maayo nga programa para sa kumunidad," she said.

Tuares said the center aims to provide young people with a dedicated space where they can meet, organize activities, and develop programs that will benefit their communities.

She also clarified that the Child and Youth Development Center (CYDC) is different from the Family and Youth Development Center (FYDC). The CYDC is designed to be established at the barangay level, while the FYDC serves municipalities.

ILOILO YOUTH GATHER FOR FIRST-EVER PROVINCIAL YOUTH CONVERGENCE

The Office of the Local Youth Development Officer of Iloilo Province organized the first-ever BIDA Kabataang Ilonggo: Iloilo Provincial Youth Convergence at Grand Xing Imperial Hotel on June 2.

More than 200 delegates from across the province attended the event, representing various youth organizations, Local Youth Development Officers, Sangguniang Kabataan officials, student government bodies, and youth leaders.

National Youth Commission Visayas Commissioner Asec. Joaquin Carlo “Wacky” Racho served as the keynote speaker and emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving meaningful progress in communities.

"We ask you to truly collaborate with one another. Collaboration is the key to progress, not competition," Racho said.

Meanwhile, student leaders Kevyn and Kristoff shared that the convergence inspired them to further strengthen their commitment to public service through networking and collaboration with fellow young leaders.

"This platform will serves as one of our strength, na ma motivate pa gid ang kada kabataan sa probinsiya sang Iloilo nga mag serbisyo," Kevyn said.

Kristoff added that the event provided an opportunity to build new friendships and partnerships among youth leaders.

"We are expecting that we could meet new friends so that ma enhance pa gid ang collaboration with each other," he said.

📌Backpacks, bags and purses bigger that 12x12 inches are 𝐍𝐎𝐓 allowed.

📌Using flash in cameras and gadgets during the event is 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝.

📌𝐍𝐎 sharp objects, alcoholic beverages, and flammable materials are allowed.

📌Smoking is 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝.

📌Instruments emitting loud noises such as big bass, snare and marching drums, trumpets, horns and similar instruments, items and devices shall 𝐍𝐎𝐓 be allowed.

📌Oversized tarpaulins, banners and props and similar items bigger than 2x4 feet which are blocking the view shall 𝐍𝐎𝐓 be allowed.

📌Cleanliness shall be 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐝 at all times.
