The People Behind NYPD:
We are members of a political party founded in 1997 which aims to hone and develop excellent servant leaders who can selflessly serve the College and the greater Filipino society guided with the teachings of our Benedictine institution and the unwavering spirit of nationalism. Political Philosophy:
The party believes that progressive change precludes and goes beyond ideol
ogy that is within any political spectrum - from outward conservatism to radical liberalism. Throughout our history the party has always celebrated the plurality of principles, ideas, and opinions; more importantly, the individual ideology of our members as this is a natural consequence of democracy. But seeing democracy not only as a means but also as an end in itself of progress towards a truly free society, the party has solidified and has reviewed its stances over issues that has bereft the students in the College and the society at large. Finally, the party concluded that NYPD has always been advocates of RADICAL CENTRISM which co-opts or does away with ideologies if needed to ensure what is for the common good. This is the “three-way political approach” used by some of the most celebrated political and economic leaders in history since the adaptation of ideology-based politics in issues that are “contextual” is futile. What remains is that despite differences in ideologies, the party believes in consensus building and dialogue to ensure that what is best for the school and for our country would be realized.
