The generations before us always knew that sustainable industries can secure a brighter future for our children. They knew this when they harvested cotton and spun it into yarn and when they first made Inabel.
Each step in the Inabel-making process is tied to the land and the elements. We now see it as heritage, a part of our culture but we must remember that every fashion show and every Ilocano designer’s work station was built by sustainable living passed down through generations.
This World Environment Day, we celebrate this wearable art and the gift of climate action along with the clarity that nature sustains us and it will continue to do so if we care for it the way our forebears did.
