The Banna Municipal Police Station (MPS) joined the Flag Raising Ceremony and Kick-Off Program of the National Women’s Month Celebration 2026 led by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Banna. The activity gathered representatives from various government agencies, stakeholders, and members of the community in a unified show of support for women empowerment and gender equality.

The participation of Banna MPS highlights the Philippine National Police’s continued commitment to promoting the rights, welfare, and protection of women. Through this initiative, the station reaffirmed its support for gender-responsive programs and strengthened its partnership with the LGU and other sectors in advancing awareness on the vital role of women in nation-building.

The celebration underscored the strong collaboration between the PNP and LGU in fostering a safe, inclusive, and empowered community for all, especially women, in line with the National Women’s Month 2026 observance.

From 2014 to 2018, PMAJ Elmira Relox served as the Provincial Women and Children Protection Desk Officer in Tawi-Tawi, where her leadership transformed the region's response to human trafficking. She developed critical tools such as the Human Trafficking Route Map and the Trafficking In-Person (TIP) Take-In Form, enhancing the identification of trafficking routes and victim profiles, leading to more efficient rescue operations. Her efforts resulted in 185 operations, the rescue of 1,347 victims, and the apprehension of numerous suspects. She also led the PNP’s involvement in the One Stop Processing Center for Filipino deportees from Sabah, ensuring their safety and access to essential services.

Her leadership extended to international trafficking investigations, coordinating with global law enforcement to support Filipina victims in Malaysia. She established a shelter for abused women and children in Tawi-Tawi and, as Chief of Police of Tandubas, launched “Peaceful Beginnings” to curb gun violence through voluntary firearm surrender. Her work built lasting systems, deepened community trust, and continues to inspire anti-trafficking and human rights efforts today.

Personnel of Banna MPS, under the supervision of PMAJ EXEQUIEL GIOVANNI L DOLOROSO, ACOP, assisted a senior citizen who was observed struggling while walking toward their vehicle after completing her transaction at the police station. Upon noticing the senior citizen’s difficulty, the responding personnel immediately approached and provided physical support to ensure the individual's safety and comfort. The officer carefully assisted the senior citizen in walking and helped her safely board their car parked within the station premises.

The senior citizen expressed appreciation for the prompt and courteous assistance extended by the police officers. This act of kindness and vigilance reflects the Banna MPS’s commitment to public service and its continued efforts to foster trust and compassion within the community, especially toward the elderly and other vulnerable sectors.
