The goals, objectives and policies enunciated in the socio-economic plan are given spatial dimension in the land use plan such as specific location and space requirements. This includes in detail the proposals for the future use of land and the structures built upon it. It projects private and public land uses in accordance with the future spatial organization of economic and social activities and

the traffic of goods and people within the ten-year period. An alternative spatial strategy is formulated based on available constraints vis-à-vis the municipality’s over-all development. Faced with fast population growth and competing demands on Banisilan’s limited land, it becomes imperative to define and guide the proper allocation, use and management of its land resources. However, the use and proper allocation of lands could not be possible without a land use plan that puts stress on economic development of the quality of life as paramount objective.
