The Municipality of Bangued, in partnership with DENR-PENRO Abra and other Agencies, proudly joins the celebration of World Environment Day, Philippine Environment Month, and Arbor Day 2026 with the theme:

โ€œGreen, Clean, and Climate-Ready Filipino Communitiesโ€
and the call for action:
โ€œAksyon Klima: Bayanihang Mapagkalinga sa Kapaligiran.โ€

Through tree planting, environmental awareness, and community participation, we reaffirm our commitment to protecting our natural resources and building a sustainable future for generations to come.

The Municipality of Bangued successfully conducted its 2nd Quarter Joint Council Meeting, bringing together council members, and local government heads and representatives to discuss programs, accomplishments, challenges, and priority initiatives for the continued development of the municipality.

The meeting served as a platform for collaboration, coordination, and strategic planning to ensure the effective implementation of programs and services that benefit the people of Bangued.

Under the leadership of Mayor Perfecto B. Cardenas, the municipality remains committed to promoting good governance, strengthening partnerships, and advancing sustainable community development for a more progressive and resilient Bangued.

The Municipal Agriculture and Fishery Council (MAFC) successfully conducted its meeting to discuss programs, concerns, and opportunities aimed at strengthening the agriculture and fisheries sector within the municipality.

Objectives:
โ€ข Review and assess current agricultural and fisheries programs and projects.
โ€ข Identify challenges and concerns affecting farmers and fisherfolk.
โ€ข Discuss proposed initiatives, policies, and development plans.
โ€ข Strengthen collaboration among stakeholders to promote sustainable agriculture and fisheries.
โ€ข Formulate recommendations to improve productivity, livelihood, and food security in the community.

Strengthening local data governance and evidence-based planning through collaboration.

The Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Coordinating Board was formally conveyed between the Local Government Unit of Bangued, headed by Mayor Perfecto B. Cardenas, and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), marking a significant step toward enhancing data-driven decision-making, program implementation, and community development initiatives for the people of Bangued.

Learners of Abra High School Main and Sinalang Extension can look forward to more comfortable classrooms following the donation of 100 monoblock chairs from Hon. Perfecto "Pope" Cardenas, Mayor of Bangued.

The generous donation was formally turned over to Abra High School today, providing additional seating support for both campuses, ensuring that more learners have adequate and comfortable seating during classes and school activities.

At the Sinalang Extension campus, the donated chairs will complement the 70 monoblock chair provided by the AHS administration for this school year, strengthening efforts to address classroom needs and support the growing learner population.

With sincere appreciation, AHS Principal Miss Jasmine P. Bringas, EdD thanked Mayor Cardenas for his continued support for education. His commitment goes beyond assistanceโ€”it builds hope, uplifts learners, and strengthens the shared mission of the local government and the school in shaping brighter futures.

The Local Government Unit of Bangued, in partnership with the Department of Agricultureโ€“PhilRice, successfully facilitated the distribution of in**ed rice seeds to local farmers as part of the continuing efforts to enhance agricultural productivity and ensure food security in the municipality.

This initiative aims to help improve rice yields, increase farm productivity, and contribute to sustainable agricultural development.
