๐๐”๐’๐Ž, ๐ƒ๐€๐๐†๐€๐‹, ๐€๐“ ๐†๐€๐‹๐ˆ๐๐† ๐๐€๐‘๐€ ๐’๐€ ๐๐€๐˜๐€๐ ๐Ÿ’™ | The Civil Service Commission (CSC)-Abra Field Office with the Provincial Government of Abra and the Municipal Government of Bangued led the kick-off of the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) celebration in the province with the unveiling of the PCSA banner and the signing of the Lingkod Bayani Commitment Wall.

During the first Monday of the month flag raising ceremony, CSC-Abra Director Atty. Ruby Verceles shared that the month-long celebration aims to recognize the hard work of public employees and honor the establishment Philippine Civil Service.

Various activities are lined-up for civil servants such as discounts in selected business establishments, trade fair, tree planting, and agency-based recognition programs among others.

Sangguniang Panlalawigan member Jane Cecilia and the DOLE Abra also shared their messages of continuous government work to serve those in need and improve livelihood and employment in the province.

๐‹๐Ž๐‚๐€๐‹ ๐„๐€๐“๐’ ๐Ÿ˜‹ | From savory fish, healthy vegetables, and sweet treats, Abrenians are resourceful when it comes to putting food on the tables.

Fishes, shellfish, shrimp, and crabs are sourced along the great Abra river and its tributaries. Fresh vegetables and mushrooms are gathered from backyard gardens or the forests while cascaron and other sweet delicacies are made from cultivating sugarcane.

These and many other Abrenian native delicacies are among local culture that showcase resourcefulness and living off from the riches of nature.

Personnel from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Bucay District Jail shared that the PDLs are able to craft various items for sale in trade fairs or per order.

Aside from their crafts, the Bucay District Jail also offer printing services and engraving services for personalized items and gifts.

Income from their local products goes to their families as financial support while they are in the correctional facility.

All Grade 12 students enrolled in pilot schools implementing the Strengthened Senior High School (SHS) Curriculum are now eligible to apply for the 2027 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship.

Applicants enrolled in the Strengthened SHS Curriculum are required to submit Form E5 along with other required forms via https://ugs.science-scholarships.ph/

๐๐‘๐„๐’๐ˆ๐ƒ๐„๐๐“๐ˆ๐€๐‹ ๐๐„๐–๐’ ๐ƒ๐„๐’๐Š โœ | President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. vowed to continue supporting the Cordillera Regionโ€™s push for autonomy and transforming regional peace into economic opportunities.

President Marcos made the remarks on Tuesday, in Malacaรฑang while leading the 2026 National Peace Consciousness Month (NPCM) Opening Ceremony, commemoration of the 30th Anniversary of the Government of the Philippines (GPH)-Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) 1996 Final Peace Agreement (FPA), and 40th Anniversary of the GPH-Cordillera Bodong Administration-Cordillera Peopleโ€™s Liberation Army (CBA-CPLA) 1986 Mount Data Peace Accord โ€œSIPAT.โ€

President Marcos also witnessed the ceremonial signing at the Palace of the agreement on the fulfillment of the 1986 Data Peace Accord between the GPH- CBA-CPLA.

โ€œEarlier, we witnessed the signing of the Agreement on the Fulfillment of our 1986 Mt. Data Peace Accord with the CBA-CPLA. This marks the first peace agreement in our countryโ€™s history to be [meaningfully] fulfilled,โ€ President Marcos said.

โ€œWe will continue to support the Cordillerasโ€™ aspirations for autonomy and ensure that peace continues to translate into development and opportunity,โ€ the President added.

The country is commemorating this year the 40th anniversary of the 1986 โ€œSipat,โ€ or Mount Data Peace Accord, with the Cordillera Bodong Administration-Cordillera Peopleโ€™s Liberation Army.

According to the President, the accord showed that even longstanding differences can be bridged through dialogue and a shared commitment to uplift communities.

Among the key accomplishments of the GPH-CBA-CPLA peace process as of August 27, 2026, are the turnover and destruction of 339 fi****ms; CPLA transformation from an armed group into the Cordillera Forum for Peace and Development Inc.; and program integration of 481 former CBA-CPLA members and next of kin in partnership with the armed forces.

Other accomplishments include the enrolment of 854 CBA-CPLA members in the PAMANA-YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program) in coordination with PhilHealth, and the signing of the Consensus on the Accomplishments of the 2011 agreement. | PND
