🌍 First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill at Alawa ES! 🌍

Today, our learners at Alawa Elementary School actively participated in the simultaneous nationwide earthquake drill conducted by the LGU Tineg MDRRMC, together with the PNP, DSWD, and RHU.

Before the drill, the team shared important earthquake prevention tips to ensure the safety of our students during emergencies. After the discussion, the learners put their knowledge into action through the actual earthquake drill, practicing proper safety procedures with enthusiasm and focus.

To cap off the activity, snacks were generously distributed to all participants, making the learning experience both educational and enjoyable.

A big thank you to our partners for helping Alawa ES students stay safe and prepared for any emergency! 🙌💛

Yesterday, the Department of Education (DepEd) Starlink WiFi was successfully installed in our school. Our dedicated teachers were present to assist and accompany the installation team, ensuring that everything was set up properly and safely within the campus.

This development marks a significant step toward more innovative and effective teaching and learning. With faster and more reliable internet access, we can now look forward to:

✨ Enhanced online research and interactive learning opportunities for our pupils
✨ Easier preparation of reports, lesson plans, and digital instructional materials for teachers
✨ More efficient communication and timely submission of school reports
✨ Access to educational platforms, webinars, and professional development opportunities

This initiative reflects DepEd’s continued commitment to providing equal access to quality education, even in remote areas, by improving digital connectivity in public schools.

Our heartfelt thanks go to everyone who took part in the installation—especially our teachers who generously gave their time, even on a Saturday—for the benefit of our learners.

Love filled the air today at Alawa Elementary School as we celebrated Valentine’s Day with meaningful and heartfelt activities. 💖

The program was packed with wonderful presentations from every grade level, each one showcasing the pupils’ talents, teamwork, and creativity. Our supportive parents also took part in the celebration, making the event more special and memorable for everyone.

One of the highlights of the day was the beautiful Valentine’s message shared by our Aral Teacher, Ms. Rosemay Olingan. Her inspiring words reminded us of the importance of love, kindness, respect, and unity within our school and community. The teachers also delighted the audience with their own dance presentation, bringing smiles and excitement to the celebration.

The most touching surprise came from the pupils themselves. All the children prepared heartfelt letters for their teachers—a sweet gesture that truly caught the teachers off guard. It was an unexpected yet deeply appreciated expression of gratitude that made the celebration even more meaningful.

Today’s Valentine’s Day at Alawa ES was simple yet filled with genuine love, appreciation, and strong bonds that continue to unite our school family. 💕

Today marked a significant and inspiring milestone for Alawa Elementary School as we successfully conducted our school-wide election. The day began with an engaging campaign period where candidates confidently shared their platforms, advocacies, and plans for the learners. Two dynamic parties—the Makakalikasan Party and the Makatao Party—participated, each promoting leadership rooted in environmental responsibility, compassion, and service.

What made this year’s election truly remarkable was the integration of modern technology into the voting process. Learners cast their votes using an online platform through Google Forms, utilizing laptops and mobile phones. This innovative approach highlighted the effective integration of ICT in school activities, allowing students to responsibly manipulate digital devices while experiencing a transparent, organized, and efficient election system. Beyond being a voting activity, it became a meaningful hands-on learning experience in digital literacy and responsible use of technology.

More importantly, the activity served as a practical voters’ education session for our learners. They gained a deeper understanding of the importance of wise decision-making, fairness, integrity, and respect for the democratic process. The atmosphere throughout the day was filled with excitement, cooperation, and sportsmanship. The election concluded smoothly, with smiles not only from the winners but also from the candidates who gracefully accepted the results—demonstrating unity and maturity among our young leaders.

We are proud to introduce the newly elected SELG Officers of Alawa Elementary School:

President: Elmar P. Lomioes Jr.
Vice President: Chenelyn P. Blanco
Secretary: Klea S. Palmenco
Treasurer: Alexandrei Baldo
Auditor: Kyle D. Ayaba
Public Information Officer (P.I.O.): Raymar T. Dican
Peace Officers: Maynard Eyem and Jhaynard Eyem
Representatives: Demileigh David, Yhasey Bengngay, and Ezra Lheia Tesoro

Guiding these young leaders is their SELG Adviser, Arnold C. Biglay, whose dedication ensures that leadership and service remain at the heart of every initiative.

Congratulations to our newly elected officers and to the entire Alawa ES community for making this democratic exercise educational, innovative, and truly memorable. Together, we continue to empower young minds and future leaders.

👁️ LAC Session on Eye Health Care 👁️

Alawa Elementary School successfully conducted a Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session focused on Health Promotion, Patient Education, and Preventive Strategies in Eye Care, led by Nurse II Fely Jane Metodio Manuben.

The session emphasized the importance of proper eye care, health promotion, and preventive strategies. This aims to detect early signs of eye problems in children, especially in Kinder and Grade 1, so they can receive timely treatment. Teachers were also equipped with practical knowledge they can apply in school and share with learners and parents.

We sincerely thank Nurse Fely Jane Metodio Manuben for sharing her expertise and for making the session informative and meaningful. Our appreciation also goes to all the teachers who actively participated and contributed to the success of this activity.

Today marked a meaningful and productive visit at Alawa ES with the presence of PSDS Ma’am Rhoda Asencio, Sir Ollyjoy Sulian, and Ms. Ma. Danica Andrea, together with the Administrative Officers of Tineg District—AO Allan Partido, AO Derick Sindon, and ADAS Kimberlyn Quezada.

The visit focused on the careful review and verification of teachers’ files and school documents, during which the team extended valuable technical assistance to our teachers, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with current standards. Their guidance helped clarify procedures and strengthened our documentation practices.

After the monitoring activity, a comprehensive Learning Action Cell (LAC) session was conducted. Sir Ollyjoy Sulian led an in-depth discussion on School-Based Management (SBM), School Monitoring, Evaluation, and Adjustment (SMEA), Innovation, and School Governing Council (SGC), providing updated insights and practical guidance. Meanwhile, PSDS Ma’am Rhoda Asencio discussed Action Research, emphasizing its role in improving teaching practices and informed decision-making in schools.

The session proved to be highly enriching, as teachers gained new knowledge, clarified reporting concerns, and were updated on important school processes. The visit strengthened our commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, and the delivery of quality education for our learners.

We sincerely thank our education leaders and the Tineg District team for their time, expertise, and unwavering support to Alawa ES.
