Disease surveillance is one of the core functions of the Public Health Unit, serving as the foundation for the early detection, timely reporting, and prompt response to diseases of public health concern. A strong surveillance system enables health authorities to identify potential outbreaks early, implement appropriate interventions, and ultimately protect the health and well-being of the communities we serve.
In line with this commitment, the Public Health Unit has further strengthened its surveillance system through the designation of a dedicated Disease Surveillance Officer, April Tacianne Lucindo, RN Tacy Bernardino with the help of our Hospital Surveillance System Data Encoder, Raymond D. Alviar, RMT Rymnd Alvr. Through their dedication and close collaboration with our committed staff nurses, Aurora Memorial Hospital continues to enhance the sensitivity and responsiveness of its surveillance system, ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of notifiable diseases.
