DICT Provincial Office of Aurora Brings ICT Oppurtunities in the Countryside

While the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) was created in 2016 by the virtue of Republic Act 10844, DICT Provincial Office of Aurora (DICT Aurora) commenced its operation on the same year.

DICT Aurora is located at ATC, Brgy. Calabuanan, Baler, Aurora which is more or less two hundred thirty kilometres (230) away from Manila and more or less two hundred (200) kilometres away from Bulacan where the DICT Regional Office is located.

The bulk of programs were launched by DICT Aurora in 2018 in which majority were in partnership with Provincial Government of Aurora (through PEACE Center). The page of DICT Provincial Office of Aurora, was created on February 2019 in order to reach out its stakeholders down to grass roots level. Customizing this DICT page in Provincial level exhibited rapport towards the residents of Aurora Province. Furthermore, creation of the aforementioned page fulfills one of the mandates of DICT i.e. countryside development.

DICT Aurora personnel have more direct engagements with stakeholders from the Province of Aurora. With a rapport between DICT Aurora and stakeholders established, the latter are confident that they are safe and secure from the following but not limited to: scam, fake news, fraud and so forth. At present, DICT Aurora – Luzon Cluster 2 has 2555 Page Likes and has 1013151 Page Reach (681552 reaches of which, were recorded during the implementation of Community Quarantine on March 2020 onwards). While the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) is still enforced, information dissemination through the use of social media is necessary.
