🌊✨ Coastal Clean-up Drive & IEC Campaign ✨🌊
📌 Theme: Sustaining Ocean Health, Sailing a Resilient Nation

In celebration of the Month of the Ocean 2026 and the International Day for Biological Diversity, the CENRO spearheaded a meaningful Coastal Clean-up and IEC Campaign at Brgy. Coguit, Balatan, Camarines Sur.

💙 Volunteers, barangay officials, youth, and fisherfolk joined hands to remove waste along the shoreline, helping restore the beauty of our coast and protect marine life.
📖 Through the IEC sessions, participants learned about the importance of ocean health, biodiversity conservation, and building a resilient nation.

✅ Accomplishments:

Collected and properly disposed of coastal waste

Distributed IEC materials to raise awareness

Strengthened partnerships between CENRO, PAMB, PAMO, LGU, and the community (Barangay Coguit)

Inspired pledges of commitment to sustain clean and resilient coastal ecosystems

On May 1, 2026, the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), in partnership with the Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges – Red Cross Youth Council, the Barangay Local Government Unit of Pararao, and the Fisherfolk Marine Resource Council, successfully conducted a Mangrove Planting Activity in Brgy. Pararao and a Coastal Clean-Up Drive in Brgy. Coguit to strengthen environmental conservation efforts, promote coastal protection, and encourage active community participation in preserving marine and coastal ecosystems.

Only 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦 left before we officially celebrate the 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗢𝗖𝗘𝗔𝗡 2026 this May! With the theme, “Sustaining Ocean Health, Sailing a Resilient Nation” this celebration reminds us of our shared responsibility to protect and conserve our marine ecosystems. Every action big or small, helps ensure a healthier ocean for generations to come.

Sa likod ng larawang ito ay ang makulay na bahura sa Barangay Maonon, Ligao City (Batong Langoyon) kung saan isinasagawa ang regular na coral reef monitoring sa loob ng Ticao-Burias Pass Protected Seascape (TBPPS). Bahagi ito ng tuloy-tuloy na pagsisikap ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Bicol sa ilalim ng Coastal and Marine Ecosystems Management Program (CMEMP) upang mapangalagaan ang ating yamang-dagat.

As we count down to this important celebration, let us continue to raise awareness, take action, and work together in preserving our oceans. Protecting our seas today means securing a resilient nation tomorrow. 🌊💙
