For making this program success.
PhilHealth YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program) and the Department of Health's PuroKalusugan are interconnected, flagship programs aimed at delivering preventive, comprehensive primary healthcare directly to Filipinos. They shift the health system from reactive treatment to proactive wellness.
PhilHealth YAKAP is the enhanced and expanded model of the former Konsulta benefit package. It acts as an early-intervention service designed to keep members healthy, manage chronic illnesses, and prevent heavy out-of-pocket hospital expenses.
Core Components: Free consultations, up to 75 essential free medicines (under the GAMOT program) with a \(\text{P}20,000\) annual cap, 13 outpatient laboratory tests, and 6 types of cancer screenings (e.g., mammograms, breast ultrasounds, and colonoscopies).
Target Beneficiaries: All PhilHealth members and dependents. Enrollment is automatic and requires no extra payment.Recent Updates: Digital empaneled slips (YES) are active via the Health Care Institution Portal, and 21 essential maintenance medicines continue to be available to members at accredited facilities.
2. PuroKalusugan is a community-centered approach by the DOH that uses the purok (neighborhood subdivision) as the main entry point for delivering essential health services. It is a vital pillar of the DOH’s 8-Point Action Agenda, specifically the goal: “Bawat Pilipino, Ramdam ang Kalusugan”.Grassroots Action: Health teams (comprising DOH-hired Human Resources for Health, local nurses, and Barangay Health Workers) bring mobile clinics and services directly into remote and underserved villages.
8 Priority Outcomes: Services rendered at the purok level are strictly aligned with eight health priorities: Immunization, Nutrition, Maternal Health, WASH (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene), TB and HIV control, Road Safety, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), and Cancer Prevention.Synergy with YAKAP:
PuroKalusugan teams actively assist residents with PhilHealth YAKAP registration and empanelment right at the community level.
