Balanga City, Bataan โ The 124th Labor Day celebration was successfully held on May 1, 2026, at the Bataan Peopleโs Center, anchored on the theme โDisenteng Trabaho para sa Lahat: Isang Hangarin, Bagong Pilipinas Sama-samang Mararating.โ The event was jointly organized by the DOLE Bataan Provincial Field Office and the PESO Bataan.
A standout feature of the celebration was the Labor Day Job Fair,where participating establishments offered 26 local and 6 overseas employment opportunities, with several job seekers hired on the spot.
Under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program, 500 beneficiaries received financial assistance, including 419 individuals from the municipalities of Balanga, Pilar, Limay, Abucay, Orani, and Samal, and 81 beneficiaries from the BJMP Orani.
Livelihood assistance under the DILP Program was likewise awarded to organized groups, including Pilar Diversify Farmers Association, Inc. (farm equipment and rental services), Samahan ng mga Ginang sa Wakas South (meat processing), and Masigasig Coconut Farmers Agriculture Cooperative in Dinalupihan.
The โKadiwa ng Pangulo Trade Fair,โ showcased locally produced goods in support of micro, small, and medium enterprises.
An orientation on ILO Convention No. 190 was also conducted to promote safe and harassment-free workplaces. Partner agencies, including PhilHealth, SSS, and DTI, provided information on government programs and services.
More than a celebration, the activity honored the enduring contribution of Filipino workers and strengthened efforts toward a future of decent and inclusive employment for all.
