𝓚𝓪𝔂𝓪𝓹𝓪 𝓝𝓪𝓽𝓲𝓸𝓷𝓪𝓵 𝓗𝓲𝓰𝓱 𝓢𝓬𝓱𝓸𝓸𝓵 𝓒𝓸𝓷𝓭𝓾𝓬𝓽𝓼 𝓕𝓲𝓻𝓼𝓽 𝓠𝓾𝓪𝓻𝓽𝓮𝓻 𝓝𝓢𝓔𝓓

Kayapa National High School conducted its First Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) to strengthen disaster preparedness among members of the school community.

A total of 211 learners, 1 school head, and 14 teachers actively participated in the activity. The drill began with the sounding of the bell, signaling a simulated earthquake scenario. Learners and teachers immediately performed the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure inside their classrooms to ensure safety during the shaking.

After the alarm, participants calmly and quickly evacuated their classrooms and proceeded to the designated safe evacuation area within the school grounds. Teachers guided the learners to maintain order and safety while moving to the assembly point.

Headcount was done to ensure that all learners were accounted for. The school head also reminded everyone of the importance of staying alert and prepared during emergencies such as earthquakes.

The successful conduct of the drill highlighted the school's commitment to promoting disaster awareness, safety, and preparedness among learners and staff. Activities like the NSED help ensure that the school community is ready to respond effectively in case of real emergencies.

In a strong show of community support and commitment to youth development, the Philippine National Police (PNP) partnered with the Kayapa National High School in conducting the ARAL Program cm Reading Program, with police officers volunteering as ARAL tutors until the end of the School Year 2025–2026.

This marks a significant milestone in the school’s continuous efforts to improve learners’ reading skills and academic performance. Serving as volunteer tutors are PSSG Agustina D. Pacsi, PCPL Jessie Mariano, PCPL Elvis Modi, and PAT Connie Lee Forag, who generously dedicated their time and expertise to guide struggling readers and learners in need of academic support.

School administrators and teachers expressed deep appreciation for the PNP’s initiative, noting that the presence of police volunteers not only boosts learners’ motivation but also reinforces the importance of community involvement in education.

This day was filled with mixed emotions—joy, gratitude, and hope. We were gathered to honor the past, embrace the present, and welcome the future.

First, we extend our heartfelt welcome to our new teachers, Ma'am Melody A. Bag-ayan, Ma'am Maritess S. Comot-Danglay, Ma'am Lenie Ann L. Guing-oy , our Administrative Officer II, Ma'am Jimaida D. Tubbay and our new school head Ma'am Yolanda T. Andiso. May your journey with us be filled with meaningful experiences, inspiring lessons, and strong partnerships that will help shape the young minds entrusted to our care. We look forward to the fresh ideas, energy, and commitment you will bring into our school community.

At the same time, this is also a send-off for Ma'am Jenny B. Rivera our previous Administrative Officer II and school head, Ma'am Shiaiane T. Cabuten who have served with dedication and love. Your legacy will remain in the hearts of the learners you have guided, the colleagues you have inspired, and the community you have uplifted. Though we bid farewell with a heavy heart, we celebrate the contributions you have made and the lasting impact of your service.

Finally, the turn-over marks the passing of responsibilities from one set of hands to another. It is not just a transfer of duties, but also a passing on of trust, commitment, and vision.
