CCIS recognized 45 Aral learners from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 3 who successfully completed the Aral Summer Program during its closing program held on June 2.

The summer learning program, which ran from May 6 to June 2, provided learners with an opportunity to strengthen their academic skills, build confidence, and prepare themselves for the next school year through the guidance of their Aral tutors.

The closing program formally started with the singing of a nationalistic song led by Ms. Riojane Bang-ot, followed by an opening prayer led by Ms. Erica Mae Biniahan. The simple yet meaningful program gathered learners, parents, teachers, and tutors to celebrate the learnersโ€™ effort and commitment throughout the program.

Mayady C. Gao-an, Master Teacher, delivered the opening remarks and message. She began by congratulating the learners for completing the program, as well as the parents and Aral tutors for their support, patience, and dedication.

In her message, Ms. Mayady also asked the parents if they had seen learning progress in their children during the summer program. Her question served as a reminder of the important role of parents in supporting their childrenโ€™s education, especially in helping them continue learning at home.

She further expressed hope that the learners who joined this yearโ€™s Aral Summer Program would continue to improve and would no longer be the same learners who would need to undergo the Aral Program again in School Year 2026โ€“2027.

The completion of the program marked an important achievement for the learners, who showed perseverance and willingness to learn despite attending classes during the summer break.

Through the combined efforts of the school, parents, Aral tutors, and learners, the CCIS Aral Summer Program became a meaningful step toward helping children improve academically and gain more confidence in their learning journey.

She then invited representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Station 10 on stage to convey their support for the program, assuring the school of their continued cooperation in promoting a peaceful, orderly, and safe environment for all learners.

Brigada Eskwela Coordinator Primo Jr. P. Mayangao then presented the scope of work and outlined the various school improvement activities to be undertaken throughout the week. A message of encouragement was delivered by Bakakeng Central officials represented by Brgy Kagawad Ariel Aminio, who affirmed the barangayโ€™s commitment to support the school and expressed its willingness to participate and contribute whatever assistance it can provide for the success of Brigada Eskwela. The response was given by SPTA President Aleli P. Bagano, expressing the parentsโ€™ support for the initiative.

The program concluded with an acknowledgment message from Faculty Club President Lyn F. Degay, recognizing the efforts and contributions of all stakeholders. Following the ceremony, volunteers immediately began participating in clean-up drives, gardening, minor repairs, and other campus improvement activities, demonstrating the spirit of bayanihan and community partnership in preparation for the School Year 2026โ€“2027.

Crystal Cave Integrated School Welcomes Pre-Service Teachers as ARAL Summer Tutors

Crystal Cave Integrated School welcomed eight pre-service teachers from the University of the Cordilleras on May 14, 2026, as part of its ARAL Summer program.

The pre-service teachers were received by the school head and participated in a brief orientation alongside teacher volunteers. During the session, Ms. Biligan discussed the goals of the ARAL Summer program, emphasizing that it aims to strengthen learnersโ€™ foundational skills, particularly in reading and numeracy, through remediation and enrichment activities. She also encourages pre-service teachers to maximize the use of school spaces and apply experiential teaching approaches, including hands-on activities and play-based learning, to make lessons more engaging and effective.

In addition, Ms. Biligan emphasized the importance of understanding oneโ€™s goals and objectives to properly guide actions and decisions in teaching. She underscored the core purpose of the teaching profession and encouraged everyone to start each day with a smile to foster a positive learning environment.

After the orientation, the pre-service teachers were paired with teacher volunteers to collaborate in identifying the learning levels and needs of the students they will handle. They then proceeded to their assigned classrooms to observe and assist in ongoing teaching activities.

The deployment of pre-service teachers marks the start of their engagement as ARAL Summer tutors, reinforcing the schoolโ€™s commitment to improving learning outcomes and ensuring that no learner is left behind.
