AGUSAN DEL SUR BUST: SUSPECT CAUGHT WITH CONTRABAND, WEAPONS, AND SHABU
The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested a suspect for illegal possession of fi****ms, ammunition, and explosives in Trento, Agusan del Sur on September 4, 2026, during an operation that also led to the seizure of suspected shabu.
Personnel of the Regional Intelligence Division 13, with tactical support from the 1st Special Action Battalion, Special Action Force, conducted the operation in Barangay Pulang-Lupa, Trento, pursuant to search warrants issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 55, 10th Judicial Region, Trento, Agusan del Sur, for violations of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Republic Act No. 9516 concerning the illegal or unlawful possession, manufacture, dealing in, acquisition, or disposition of fi****ms, ammunition, or explosives.
Seized during the operation were two .45-caliber pistols with two magazines and five rounds of ammunition, one hand gr***de, and one black holster. Also recovered were 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, weighing approximately 30 grams and valued at โฑ204,000.00 based on the Dangerous Drug Board standard valuation.
The Trento Municipal Police Station of the Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office took custody of the arrested suspect and the seized items for documentation and proper disposition.
โWe will not allow illegal fi****ms and explosives to remain in the hands of individuals who can use them to threaten the safety of our communities. Our police units will remain focused on identifying and apprehending those who violate the law,โ PGEN Nartatez said.
โMalinaw ang ating paninindigan laban sa ilegal na armas, eksplosibo, at ilegal na droga. Hindi natin hahayaang malagay sa panganib ang seguridad ng ating mga komunidad,โ he added.
The operation reinforces the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, through sustained enforcement against illegal fi****ms, explosives, and dangerous drugs.
As the PNP steps up its efforts to protect communities from criminal threats under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the PNP assures the public of โBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.โ
