Our Mandate

The Department of Education was established through the Education Decree of 1863 as the Superior Commission of Primary Instruction under a Chairman. The Education agency underwent many reorganization efforts in the 20th century in order to better define its purpose vis a vis the changing administrations and charters. The present day Department of Education was eventually mandated through Republic Act 9155, otherwise known as the Governance of Basic Education act of 2001 which establishes the mandate of this agency. The Department of Education (DepEd) formulates, implements, and coordinates policies, plans, programs and projects in the areas of formal and non-formal basic education. It supervises all elementary and secondary education institutions, including alternative learning systems, both public and private; and provides for the establishment and maintenance of a complete, adequate, and integrated system of basic education relevant to the goals of national development.

𝗔𝗱𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗰𝘆

In support of the nationwide campaign to prevent and control dengue and in observance of Dengue Awareness Month, Adiwang Integrated School conducted a Dengue Awareness and Prevention Talk during the school flag ceremony on June 15, 2026.

The information drive was facilitated by SDRRM Coordinator Lester A. Biadno, who discussed essential facts about dengue, its symptoms, modes of transmission, and practical prevention measures. The activity aims to increase public awareness and strengthen collective action against dengue, especially during the onset of the rainy season when dengue cases typically rise.

To further strengthen the advocacy, teachers will integrate dengue awareness and prevention concepts into their lessons whenever applicable, helping learners become informed and proactive in protecting themselves, their families, and the community from dengue.

Through continuous education and community participation, Adiwang Integrated School remains committed to promoting a safe, healthy, and dengue-free learning environment for all.

10 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗠𝗢𝗢𝗘 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆

Adiwang Integrated School continues to strengthen its educational resources through the procurement of ten (10) computer printers funded under the school's Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE).

The newly acquired printers were officially issued to teachers through an Inventory Custodian Slip (ICS), ensuring proper accountability and efficient utilization of school property. Each teacher recipient was assigned one printer to support instructional preparation, assessment activities, printing of learning materials, and other school-related tasks.

This initiative aims to enhance teachers' productivity and improve the delivery of quality education by providing readily accessible printing equipment for classroom and administrative needs.

The school administration expresses its gratitude for the prudent utilization of school funds that directly benefit teaching and learning processes. Through strategic investments in instructional resources, Adiwang Integrated School remains committed to creating a more efficient and learner-centered educational environment.

Adiwang Integrated School proudly celebrates the recognition received by its School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) President, Michelle M. Likigan, for her Outstanding Leadership, Collaboration, and Dedication to the SPTA during the Flag Raising Ceremony held on June 15, 2026 at the Baguio City Hall Grounds.

The award was conferred in recognition of Mrs. Likigan’s unwavering commitment to strengthening the partnership among parents, teachers, and the community. Through her exemplary leadership, active involvement in school programs, and dedication to advancing the welfare of learners, she has significantly contributed to the success of various school initiatives and the promotion of a positive learning environment.

Joining her in receiving recognition was School Head Lilybeth B. Balutoc, who was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation and Recognition for her outstanding leadership, collaboration, and steadfast support to the School Parent-Teacher Association. Her guidance and commitment have fostered a strong partnership between the school and stakeholders, empowering the SPTA to thrive and effectively support the educational needs of learners.

The recognition highlights the importance of collaboration between school leaders and parent organizations in creating meaningful educational opportunities and strengthening community engagement. Their shared vision and dedication continue to inspire excellence and contribute to the holistic development of Adiwang Integrated School learners.

As part of the opening block activities for School Year 2026–2027, classroom orientations for parents and guardians were successfully conducted after class hours on June 8-11, 2026 at Adiwang Integrated School to further strengthen home-school partnership and ensure a shared understanding of school programs and expectations.

The classroom-based orientations focused on important school policies, current Department of Education (DepEd) reforms, learner welfare, and other school-related guidelines. Election of classroom officers was also conducted to establish parent leadership and support mechanisms within each class.

These orientations served as a follow-through activity to the General Parent Orientation held on June 4, 2026. While the earlier gathering provided school-wide information, the classroom orientations allowed advisers to discuss specific concerns, expectations, and class-level details relevant to parents and learners.

Through these orientation sessions, Adiwang Integrated School continues to promote transparency, shared responsibility, and strong stakeholder engagement in ensuring a productive, safe, and learner-centered School Year 2026–2027.

The High School Department of Adiwang Integrated School successfully conducted its PTA Meeting for the parents and guardians of Grade 7 and Grade 8 learners on June 11, 2026. The activity was facilitated by Grade 7 Adviser Ms. Analiza P. Abina and Grade 8 Adviser Ms. Rowena T. Embuido.

The meeting served as a venue for discussing important updates on current DepEd reforms, school programs, policies, and initiatives aimed at improving the quality of education and supporting learner achievement. Parents and guardians were encouraged to actively participate in their children's educational journey through strengthened home-school collaboration.

A significant part of the meeting was the election of PTA Officers, where parents actively took part in selecting leaders who will represent their respective grade levels and work hand in hand with the school in promoting programs and activities beneficial to all learners.

Representatives from the Fernando Rosa Bautista (FRB) Foundation, Inc. and the University of Baguio (UB) Research Team visited Adiwang Integrated School on June 10, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the partnership between the institutions.

The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful discussions on collaborative programs and initiatives that support the school community and contribute to the continuous improvement of educational services. School officials and faculty members warmly welcomed the guests and engaged in productive conversations aimed at fostering stronger cooperation and shared commitment toward quality education.

𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝘁 𝗔𝗱𝗶𝘄𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹

Personnel from the City Health Services Office of Baguio City, through its Environmental Health and Sanitation Division, visited Adiwang Integrated School today, June 9, 2026 to conduct monitoring and inspection activities aimed at identifying possible mosquito breeding sites within the school premises as part of the city's dengue prevention and control efforts.

The team thoroughly inspected various areas of the school, including rainwater collection facilities, classrooms, offices, and the school cooperative canteen, to ensure compliance with health and sanitation standards and to minimize potential health risks to learners and personnel.

Following the inspection, the health personnel provided technical assistance on several minor improvements. They advised the school to properly cover rainwater collection drums and storage tanks and to regularly treat stored water to prevent mosquito breeding. To support these measures, the team provided drum covers and water treatment chemicals for use in the school's rainwater collection facilities.

In addition, 3 rolls of treated mosquito nets were distributed for office and classroom use to further protect learners and school personnel from mosquito-borne diseases. The health team also recommended that cooperative canteen personnel secure and present valid health certificates and consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while handling food.

As part of their environmental sanitation recommendations, the inspectors advised against the use of fortune plants and similar ornamental plants in outdoor areas, noting that these plants can collect and retain rainwater, creating potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

The school administration expressed its gratitude to the City Health Services Office for its continued support and guidance in promoting a safe, healthy, and dengue-free learning environment for all learners and personnel as School Year 2026–2027 begins.

Adiwang Integrated School took another significant step toward enhancing digital learning as personnel from PLDT installed an additional internet subscription under the school's Enterprise Account on June 9, 2026.

The additional internet connection was procured through the school's Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) to strengthen and ensure reliable internet access for educational programs and online learning initiatives.

The upgraded connectivity is expected to support the implementation of Khan Academy in Mathematics, Science, and English subjects for both Elementary and Junior High School learners starting School Year 2026–2027. Through this initiative, learners will have greater access to interactive lessons, practice exercises, and personalized learning opportunities that will help improve academic performance and digital literacy.

This initiative reflects the school's continued commitment to leveraging technology to support effective teaching and learning for all Adiwang Integrated School learners.

𝗝𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝘀𝗮𝗿 𝗩. 𝗧𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗰𝗮𝘆 – Physical Education Teacher

A 26-year-old from Camp 4, Kennon Road, Tuba, Benguet, Mr. Tagacay earned his Bachelor of Physical Education degree from the University of the Cordilleras. Though relatively new to the profession, he has gained teaching experience in two previous schools in less than a year of service. He brings enthusiasm, dedication, and a passion for promoting holistic learner development through sports, fitness, and active learning.

As we begin School Year 2026–2027, we are grateful to have these educators join our growing community of committed teachers. Their knowledge, skills, and dedication will undoubtedly contribute to the academic excellence and character formation of our learners.

As part of the school's commitment to promoting the health and well-being of learners, a physical assessment activity was conducted at Adiwang Integrated School on June 8, 2026.

The activity was led by Dr. Maria Loreto L. Andrada, Dentist of the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Baguio, together with Nurse Shaira Gail C. Miranda. Learners from Kindergarten to Grade 8 underwent oral examinations and anthropometric measurements, including the taking of height and weight, to determine their Body Mass Index (BMI).

The oral examination aimed to assess the dental health status of learners and identify those who may require further dental care and intervention. Meanwhile, the height and weight measurements provided essential data for monitoring the nutritional status and overall health condition of the learners.

The physical assessment formed part of the school's opening-block activities, ensuring that learners begin the school year with proper health monitoring and support. This initiative aligns with the Department of Education's commitment to safeguarding the health and wellness of learners as an essential component of quality education.

Adiwang Integrated School expressed its appreciation to Dr. Andrada and Nurse Miranda for their valuable services and dedication in ensuring the health and wellness of the school's learners. Their efforts contribute significantly to creating a healthy learning environment where learners can thrive academically and physically.
