Issued at 08:00 PM 16 August 2026

Yellow Warning: Benguet
Associated Hazard: POSSIBLE FLOODING and LANDSLIDE in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas

Meanwhile, light to moderate to at times heavy rains are being experienced in Abra, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Apayao (Conner, Kabugao, Pudtol), and Kalinga, which may persist within 2 to 3 hours and may affect nearby areas.

The above conditions are expected over Apayao (Calanasan, Flora, Luna, Santa Marcela), within the next 2 to 3 hours.

The public and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices concerned are advised to MONITOR the weather condition and watch for the next warning to be issued at 11:00 PM Today.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards. Residents along mountain slope are advised for possible landslides mudslides, rockslides and flash flood.

Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday afternoon (August 19)
▪️(50-100 mm): Benguet

Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas may be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall.

The public disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measure to protect life and property. PAGASA Regional Services Divisions may issue Heavy Rainfall Warnings/Thunderstorms Advisories, and other severe weather information specific to their areas of responsibility as appropriate.

Unless significant changes occur, the next Weather Advisory will be issued at 11:00 PM today.

Light to modertae to at times heavy rains are expected over Apayao (Calanasan, Luna, Santa Marcela), Kalinga (Lubuagan, Pasil, Tanudan, Tinglayan), Mountain Province (Sadanga, Bontoc, Sagada, Barlig, Sabangan, Bauko, Tadian), and Ifugao (Banaue, Hingyon, Hungduan), within the next 2 to 3 hours.

The above conditions are being experienced in Benguet, Abra, Apayao (Flora, Kabugao, Pudtol, Conner), Kalinga (Balbalan, Pinukpuk, Rizal, City of Tabuk), Mountain Province (Besao, Paracelis, Natonin), and Ifugao (Alfonso Lista, Aguinaldo, Mayoyao, Lagawe, Lamut, Kiangan, Asipulo, Tinoc), which may persist within 2 to 3 hours and may affect nearby areas.

BINABANTAYAN ang isa na namang Low Pressure Area (LPA) na inaasahang papasok ng Philippine Area of Responsibility ngayong gabi.

Huli itong namataan sa layong 1,385 km ng east of Central Luzon.

Ayon kay DOST-PAGASA Weather Specialist Grace Castañeda – Carpio, posibleng maging bagyo ang nasabing LPA habang binabaybay nito ang karagatang silangan ng Luzon. Gayunman, posibleng magkaroon din ng sirkulasyon sa kanluran ng Northern Luzon sa mga susunod na oras.

Sinabi ni Carpio na isa sa mga ito ang posibleng mabuo na bagyo at papangalanang Neneng. Ang isa naman ay magiging trough na lamang ng dominanteng weather system.

Sa pagtaya ng PAGASA, posibleng tumbukin ng potensiyal na bagyo ang Taiwan at maaaring direktang maapektuhan ang Batanes.

Inaasahan din na ang sirkulasyon na ito ang magpapalakas ng habagat na magdadala ng mga pag-ulan sa malaking bahagi ng bansa.

Pinapayuhan ang lahat na maging handa, alerto, at mag-antabay sa updates na ilalabas ng PAGASA.

As of 2:00 PM today, 16 August 2026, the Low Pressure Area (LPA 08e) is being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and is "UNLIKELY" to develop into a Tropical Depression within the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, another Low Pressure Area (LPA 08f) is being monitored outside PAR and has a “MEDIUM” potential of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
