In a collaborative effort to revive, renew, and enliven the Balili River, the Department of Agriculture Employees Association - Cordillera (DAEA-CAR), the local government unit (LGU) of Baguio through the City Environmental and Parks Management Office, and Guisad Central barangay forged a partnership for the โ€œSalaknib Ti Waig" program of the City of Baguio on August 27, 2026 at the Baguio City Hall.

The Department of Agriculture- Cordillera (DA-CAR) continues to implement measures to address the effects of the recent typhoons and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) on the agricultural sector in the region.

Based on the latest data reported by the Local Government Units (LGUs) through the Agencyโ€™s Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Information System (DRRMIS), an initial 1,092 farmers and fisherfolk have been affected, with a reported total volume loss of 433.63 metric tons (MT) due to Typhoons Luis and Maymay and the Southwest Monsoon. These figures remain subject to continuing assessment, validation, and consolidation as additional reports are received from the affected areas.
