United in Service: CDRRMO Baguio Expresses Gratitude to Tanay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office - Tanay MDRRMO

The City of Baguio Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) extends its sincere gratitude to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Tanay, Rizal for their assistance and compassion toward one of our Baguio residents who recently figured in a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) in Morong, Rizal.

Following the incident, the Tanay Rizal MDRRMO provided the necessary assistance and remained with the patient while awaiting the arrival of the Baguio CDRRMO team. They also facilitated the patientโ€™s transfer to East Avenue Medical Center, where the Baguio CDRRMO team later fetched the patient for continued assistance. Their coordination, assistance, and commitment to the patientโ€™s safety reflect the importance of cooperation and public service among local government responders.

Upon the arrival of the CDRRMO team, the patient was safely received and transported back home to Baguio, where he could be properly endorsed and transferred to a medical facility for continued care.

To the dedicated team of the Tanay, Rizal MDRRMO, thank you for your generosity, patience, cooperation, and genuine concern for our fellow Baguio resident. Your assistance went beyond geographical boundaries and demonstrated that compassion, cooperation, and public service know no borders.

IN THE MIDST OF TRAGEDY, WE STAND TOGETHER.

At approximately 1930H on 09 August 2026, a devastating landslide struck Barangay Guisad Surong, Baguio City, taking the lives of 10 individuals, including children.

Under the leadership of City Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong, and under the direction of CDRRMO Officer Engr. Charles Bryan C. Carame, the Baguio City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), together with its partner agencies and responders, remained committed to carrying out response, search, rescue, recovery, and support operations for the affected community.

For those who received the calls, responded to the scene, searched through the debris, and stood alongside families waiting for their loved onesโ€”this was more than an incident. It was a moment that reminded us of how fragile life can be in the face of natureโ€™s fury.

Yet, amidst the heartbreak, there was also a small reminder of hopeโ€”a dog that survived the landslide, found alive beneath the debris. A small life spared in the middle of an unimaginable tragedy. ๐Ÿพ

Our deepest condolences and prayers go to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives. May God grant them comfort, strength, and peace as they face this profound loss.

The Baguio City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) extends its deepest gratitude to every responder, rescuer, volunteer, barangay personnel, law enforcement personnel, medical team, support staff, and every individual who helped during the response and recovery operations.

We may not be able to name each of you one by one, but your courage, compassion, sleepless hours, and willingness to serve will never go unnoticed.

To everyone who extended assistance by providing food, water, supplies, and other necessities to our responders and affected familiesโ€”thank you. Every act of kindness, no matter how simple, became a source of strength during one of the most difficult moments for our community.

As the Habagat and continuous rains continue to affect Baguio City, we strongly remind everyone to remain alert, vigilant, and prepared.

โš ๏ธ If you are in a landslide-prone, flood-prone, or otherwise hazardous area, please do not wait until conditions become life-threatening before evacuating.

โš ๏ธ Evacuate when advised by authorities or barangay officials and proceed to a safer location.

โš ๏ธ Stay updated through official advisories and cooperate with authorities.

๐Ÿ“ž IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, DIAL 911.

Your call may be the first step toward saving a life.

And above all, let us continue to pray. ๐Ÿ™

May God comfort the families who lost their loved ones, strengthen our responders and rescuers, protect our communities, and guide everyone working tirelessly through these challenging times.

In moments of darkness, we hold on to one another.

Baguio, we grieve together.
We respond together.
We rise together.

LOOK l ๐Ÿซ Earthquake Drill Successfully Conducted at Fairview Elementary School

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) successfully conducted an Earthquake Drill at Fairview Elementary School as part of its continuing commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness and promoting a culture of safety in our schools.

The activity provided students, teachers, and school personnel with hands-on practice on the proper earthquake response procedures, including "Duck, Cover, and Hold," orderly evacuation, and accountability after the drill. Through regular preparedness activities such as this, we continue to build awareness, enhance emergency response capabilities, and foster resilience within our communities.

CDRRMO extends its sincere appreciation to the administrators, faculty, staff, students, and everyone who actively participated and contributed to the successful conduct of the drill. Your cooperation plays a vital role in creating a safer and more disaster-resilient Baguio.
