A two-day innovation summit for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) served as a platform for entrepreneurs to explore digital business solutions, connect with potential partners, and access government services on May 29-30, 2026 at the University of the Cordilleras.
Highlighting the critical role of MSMEs in creating jobs, stimulating the economy, and driving vision in communities, Atty. Samuel G. Gallardo, Assistant Regional Director of the Department of Trade and Industry-Cordillera Administrative Region (DTI-CAR), emphasized that the summit aimed to inspire strong collaboration, knowledge sharing, and partnership-building among government, industry, academia, and the community.
In support of the summit and continued collaboration with partner agencies, the Department of Information and Communications Technology-Cordillera Administrative Region (DICT-CAR) joined in the summit by assisting MSMEs and stakeholders in onboarding to the eGovPH app, showcasing digital capacity-building programs and services, and providing connectivity.
Learning sessions were also conducted by representatives from Technology Business Incubators, the City Planning Development and Sustainability Office, the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-Cordillera Administrative Region (RTWPB-CAR), and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (Baguio Satellite Office).
Aside from the business solutions, learning sessions, and product exhibits, participants also took part in the Bingo Card Game, an interactive activity that encouraged them to visit participating booths, learn about the services offered, and secure initials from booth personnel to complete their bingo cards for a chance to win merchandise and prizes from event sponsors.
DICT-CAR Regional Director Jimmicio S. Daoaten joined the awarding of prizes to winning participants and interacted with entrepreneurs and stakeholders during the event, underscoring the importance of collaboration among government agencies, and reinforcing the summit's goal of fostering partnerships.
The summit was organized by the City Government of Baguio, the Department of Trade and Industry-Cordillera Administrative Region (DTI-CAR), and the Department of Trade and Industry Baguio-Benguet Provincial Office in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology-Cordillera Administrative Region (DICT-CAR), business solutions partners, national government agencies, and Technology Business Incubators.
