Please be informed that Ordinance No. 69, Series of 2026, entitled:
"AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING PAYMENT OF GARBAGE FEES IN THE CITY OF BAGUIO IN ACCORDANCE WITH REPUBLIC ACT NO. 9003, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE 'ECOLOGICAL SOLID WASTE ACT OF 2000,' REPEALING FOR THE PURPOSE SECTION 32 OF TAX ORDINANCE NUMBERED 2000-01, PROVIDING MECHANISMS FOR ITS COLLECTION, AND IMPOSING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION"
which set the new garbage fees in Baguio City, has already taken effect starting September 2026. A copy of the said ordinance is attached for your reference.
Section 4, Item No. 12 of the ordinance prescribes the new garbage fee at P75.00, to be collected per barangay household, with the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) entitled to an outright fifty percent (50%) share of the said fee.
Since BLGUs are deputized to collect the garbage fee from barangay households, all Punong Barangays are advised to begin collecting the P75.00 garbage fee starting September 2026, in order to effectively receive their corresponding 50% share.
Barangays are likewise advised to take note of Sections 4, 5, 7, and 9 of the ordinance and other pertinent provisions. Note also Section 6 on the matter of Discounts and Surcharges.
Please stand by for the orientation schedule, to be set at the earliest possible time next week with the City Treasurer’s Office.
