Aside from ensuring a safe and secure testing center, the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) also provided encouragement to Bar examinees.

The PRO-CAR deployed 441 police personnel to ensure public safety, maintain traffic order, and provide assistance to examinees, examination personnel, and stakeholders throughout the three-day examinations set at the Saint Louis University in Baguio City, one of the testing centers for the 2026 Bar exams.

Regional Director PBGen. Noel Vallo and Baguio City Police Office Director PCol. Ruel Tagel inspected security operations during the opening day of the Bar exams earlier today, September 6, 2026.

PBGen. Vallo personally engaged with the Bar examinees and led the distribution of small tokens of encouragement, a chocolate bar and written is a note expressing PRO CAR’s support and appreciation for their dedication and perseverance as they take the rigorous examinations.

PRO-CAR said the security and public assistance operations will continue on the succeeding examination days on September 9 and 13, 2026. The PRO-CAR remains committed to ensuring a safe and conducive environment for every Bar examinee. (PRO CAR)

Light to moderate to at times heavy rains are expected over Ifugao, Mountain Province (Barlig, Natonin, Paracelis, Sadanga), Kalinga, Abra (Bangued, Boliney, Bucay, Bucloc, Daguioman, Danglas, Dolores, La Paz, Lagangilang, Lagayan, Langiden, Luba, Manabo, Peñarrubia, Pidigan, Pilar, Sallapadan, San Isidro, San Juan, San Quintin, Tayum, Tineg, Tubo, Villaviciosa), and Apayao (Conner), within the next 2 to 3 hours.

The above conditions are being experienced in Benguet, Mountain Province (Tadian, Besao, Sagada, Bontoc, Sabangan, Bauko), and Abra (Lacub, Licuan Baay, Malibcong), which may persist within 2 to 3 hours and may affect nearby areas.

The public and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices concerned are advised to MONITOR the weather condition and watch for the next warning to be issued at 05:00 PM Today.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards. Residents along mountain slope are advised for possible landslides, mudslides, rockslides and flash flood.

ICYMI | Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman John Patrick “Pato” Gregorio visited the PSC facility at Teachers Camp, Baguio City on September 1, 2026.

Chairman Gregorio together with some technical personnel of the PSC inspected the ongoing renovation of the football field and the other facilities of the PSC.

In an interview, he told media the about upcoming facilities at PSC Baguio, which includes a pickleball court and a 3x3 basketball court, all are donations courtesy of the MVP Sports Foundation.

He said that all ongoing renovations and construction, including the newly proposed courts within the PSC Baguio facility are expected to be finished by the end of the year.

PMA Advisory for Baguio City Leg of PMA Entrance Examination 2026

The Philippine Military Academy reminds examinees taking the PMA Entrance Examination 2026 in Baguio City on September 5–6, 2026 that the designated testing center will be inside Fort General Gregorio H. Del Pilar, Baguio City.

To facilitate the orderly and secure conduct of the examination, Fort Del Pilar will be closed to the general public on September 5–6, with access limited to PMAEE examinees and authorized personnel.

Vehicles accompanying examinees will only be allowed up to the Fort Del Pilar Elementary School area. From there, PMA buses will ferry examinees to the designated registration and examination venue and transport them back after completing the examination.

Examinees are advised to bring sufficient drinking water, meals, and snacks, as concessionaire facilities inside the camp may not be sufficient to accommodate the expected number of examinees. Exam takers are also encouraged to bring an umbrella or appropriate rain protection in case of inclement weather.

PMA encourages all examinees to plan their travel accordingly, arrive in as early as 7am to have sufficient time for registration and transportation, and follow the instructions of PMA personnel upon arrival.

The Academy wishes all aspirants success as they take their first step toward joining the Philippine Military Academy and pursuing a lifetime of service to the nation.

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 134, alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures shall be implemented at all levels in public and private educational institutions in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on September 4, 2026, unless their respective Local Chief Executives direct the cancellation or suspension of classes:

Restored WWII Marker unveiled

The city government of Baguio with the Philippine Veterans Bank unveiled the restored World War II marker along the Naguilian Road in Baguio City in time for the celebration of the 81st Victory Day.

Baguio City councilor Van Dicang with Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB) first vice president for marketing and communications and executive vice president of the Veterans Federation of the Philippines Sons and Daughters Association, Inc., Atty. Miguel Angelo Villa-Real, Philippine Veterans Affairs Cordillera Filed Service Office Head Cherilyn Sabling, Baguio City Police Office Director PCol. Ruel Tagel and reps from the Sons and Daughters Association Inc. and other stakeholders led the unveiling of the historic marker on September 3, 2026 despite the inclement weather.

Funds for the refurbishment of the marker came from the Victory Day Golf Cup held in 2026. Proceeds from the golf tournament funded the preservation of existing World War II historical markers in Baguio City as well as the construction of new ones to ensure the legacy of World War II veterans and executive vice president of the Veterans Federation of the Philippines Sons and Daughters Association, Inc.

Villa-Real said that the restoration of the markers is to remind the people, especially the youth, on the bravery and courage of the World War II veterans that paved the way for the freedom that the country is enjoying to date.

HERE | The city government of Baguio commemorated the 81st Victory Day today, September 3, 2026.

A flag raising and wreath-laying ceremony kicked off the program at the Veterans Park led by the Philippine Military Academy with the Baguio City Police Office and the city officials. This was followed by the 21-gun salute followed by the taps to show respect to the fallen World War II veterans.

Messages were delivered during the program proper by Cong. Mauricio Domogan, Councilor Jose Molintas and Philippine Veterans Bank first vice president for marketing and communications and Veterans Federation of the Philippines Sons and Daughters Association, Inc., executive vice president Atty. Miguel Angelo Villa-Real.

In his keynote message, Villa-Real thanked the city government of Baguio for continuously celebrating the Victory Day every September 3 which was the day when Japanese Imperial Army led by Gen. Tomoyuki Yamash*ta officially signed his deed of surrender at Camp John Hay in front of the joint allied American and Filipino forces after being captured by Filipino guerillas in Kiangan, Ifugao on September 2, 1945.

Villa-Real stressed that the Victory Day celebrated today is not just for Baguio City but for the whole country and he is hoping that one day, the celebration would be recognized nationwide.

Also present during the activity were Philippine Veterans Affairs Office Deputy Administrator for Operations ASec. Domingo Carbonell Jr., PVAO Cordillera Filed Service Office Head Cherilyn Sabling, Baguio City Police Office Director PCol. Ruel Tagel, members of the SDAI Baguio-Benguet, reps of the WWII veterans, Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts, members of the media and the youth.

The Victory Day on September 3 commemorates the day of the signing of the instrument of surrender of Gen. Tomoyuki Yamash*ta at Camp John Hay in Baguio City which eventually ended World War II in 1945.
