TESDA Benguet Joins the 2026 MSME Innovation Summit

TESDA Benguet participated in the 2026 MSME Innovation Summit organized by the Department of Trade and Industry - Baguio-Benguet on May 29–30, 2026, at the University of the Cordilleras Theater, Baguio City.

With the theme “NextGen MSMEs: Innovating for Impact,” the summit brought together stakeholders from government, industry, and the academe to discuss innovation and growth opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

TESDA Benguet, through its information booth, promoted its programs and services and assisted 76 clients with inquiries on EBET registration, training, assessment, certification, and scholarship opportunities.

The agency’s participation reflects its commitment to supporting MSME development through quality technical education and skills development programs.

BAGUIO CITY – 21 Engineering Technology trainers from TESDA Technology Institutions (TTIs) nationwide enhanced their competencies in collaborative robotics and automation after completing the five-day Training of Trainers (TOT) on Collaborative Robotics conducted at the TESDA Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education - Main Campus from May 25–29, 2026.

Industry experts and resource speakers from FANUC Philippines, DOBOT Robotics, RED GUTZ, TESDA-CSITE, and the National TVET Trainers Academy (NTTA) led intensive sessions on collaborative robotics programming, automation systems, machine vision integration, human-robot interaction, and robotics safety using advanced robotic platforms.

During the Opening Program, Executive Director David B. Bungallon emphasized the vital role of trainers in preparing globally competitive and industry-responsive learners, encouraging participants to continuously adapt to evolving technologies.

Meanwhile, TESDA-CSITE Executive Director Daisy C. Bungallon, during the Closing Program, underscored the importance of re-echoing the competencies gained by the participants to expand Industry 4.0 learning opportunities across TESDA institutions.

By the end of the program, participants demonstrated competencies in operating, programming, troubleshooting, and integrating collaborative robotic systems into training environments, strengthening TESDA’s efforts to develop future-ready trainers for technology-driven industries.

The activity formed part of the Re-Entry Action Plan (REAP) of TESDA-CSITE trainers who previously completed Industry 4.0 training in Singapore. Through the multiplier training approach, participants are expected to cascade the knowledge and skills gained to their respective institutions nationwide.

𝟒𝟓 𝐏𝐃𝐋𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐂 𝐈𝐈 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐓𝐄𝐒𝐃𝐀-𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩

A total of 45 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) successfully completed the Barbering NC II training conducted by TESDA-Benguet in partnership with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology-Baguio District Male Dormitory and the City Local Government Unit (CLGU) of Baguio.

The program was facilitated by trainer Martin S. Allidem, while the graduation ceremony at the BJMP Baguio District Male Dormitory along Abanao Street, Baguio City.

TESDA-Benguet Acting Provincial Director Arlene L. Cadalig shared that the certificates earned by the graduates will open future employment opportunities. She added that TESDA and BJMP are now coordinating for the conduct of an on-site assessment for the graduates to obtain their National Certificates.

Meanwhile, JCINSP Dexter B. Ngipol encouraged the graduates to value the training opportunity given to them, recognizing the efforts and support of various agencies and individuals who worked together to provide them access to education and skills development.

Representing the CLGU of Baguio, Romelda Frances M. Escaño congratulated the graduates for their perseverance and commitment in completing the training.

The graduates also expressed their gratitude to the government and partner agencies for providing them with opportunities to gain skills that can help them rebuild their lives and prepare for productive reintegration into society.

PIDIGAN, Abra – 25 Child Development Workers (CDWs) from the municipalities of Pilar and San Isidro successfully completed the Early Childhood Care and Development Services (ECCDS) NC III program and received their Certificates of Training during the first graduation ceremony conducted by TESDA-CSITE Abra Campus on May 28, 2026.

Vocational Instruction Supervisor Jasmine S. Bringas commended the graduates for their dedication and perseverance throughout the training. She also acknowledged the valuable contribution of Trainer April Ann M. Baula for her commitment to guiding the trainees toward the successful completion of the program.

School Administrator Emmanuel B. Ballesteros encouraged the graduates to continue serving as advocates of early childhood development and apply the competencies they acquired in nurturing and educating children within their respective communities.

Representatives from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Offices (MSWDOs) of Pilar and San Isidro, along with CSITE Abra Campus personnel, joined the graduates in celebrating the culmination of their training journey.

With the addition of the 25 ECCDS NC III graduates from the CSITE Abra Campus, TESDA-CSITE has produced a total of 75 ECCDS NC III graduates across its Main Campus in Baguio City and Abra Campus in 2026. This reflects the institution’s commitment to developing competent early childhood care workers who contribute to the enhancement of early childhood services in the Cordillera region.

TESDA-Benguet actively participated in the Public Consultation conducted by the Office of Councilor Vladimir G. Cayabas on May 14, 2026, at the Venus Parkview Hotel.

The consultation focused on the following several proposed education and lifelong learning initiatives: the establishment of the Baguio City Lifelong Learning Council (BCLLC), the creation of a Local Education Office in the City of Baguio, the operationalization of the Inclusive Learning Resource Center (ILRC), and amendments to Ordinance No. 110-1988 or the Baguio City Public High School Students Incentive Fund Ordinance.

Representing TESDA-Benguet, Administrative Officer V Julie Ann M. Ladiong served as one of the speakers during the activity. She presented updates on TESDA programs and services, including the TESDA profile, registered training centers and their programs in Baguio City, accredited assessment centers, training modalities, scholarship programs, and area-based and demand-driven initiatives addressing local workforce needs.

“TESDA-Benguet stands ready to support a coordinated and sustainable lifelong learning ecosystem for all Baguio constituents,” she said. She also conveyed the support of TESDA-Benguet for the establishment of BCLLC, focusing on gathering grassroots-level data, and served as a panel member to address stakeholders’ queries.

The activity gathered stakeholders from various sectors to strengthen collaboration in promoting accessible, inclusive, and lifelong learning opportunities for the people of Baguio City.

BONTOC, Mountain Province – TESDA Mountain Province successfully conducted the mass distribution of starter toolkits to 304 beneficiaries under the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) in Bontoc, Mountain Province.

The beneficiaries were graduates of various qualifications, including Driving NC II, Electrical Installation and Maintenance NC II, Masonry NC I, Cookery NC II, Produce Organic Concoctions and Extracts, Produce Organic Fertilizer, and Raise Organic Small Ruminants. They completed their training through Northland Technical Institute, Inc., Caliber Vocational Training Institute and Assessment Center, Inc., Khai Academy, Inc., and the TESDA CSITE Mountain Province Campus.

The provision of starter toolkits was made possible through the support of the Office of Congressman Maximo Y. Dalog, Jr., which funded the program. During the activity, Mr. Dionisio Wacdisen delivered the message of Congressman Dalog, reaffirming the latter’s commitment to supporting skills training and livelihood opportunities for the people of Mountain Province.

Provincial Director Felixberto B. Matute, Jr. expressed his gratitude to the Office of Congressman Dalog for its continued partnership with TESDA in empowering communities through technical-vocational education and skills development.

The distribution of starter toolkits aims to help graduates start livelihood activities, enhance their employability, and create opportunities for sustainable income generation using the skills they acquired from their respective training programs.

BAGUIO CITY, June 1, 2026 – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority – Cordillera Administrative Region (TESDA-CAR) conducted a 3-in-1 event on June 1, 2026, at the TESDA-CSITE Main Campus, bringing together officials and personnel for the Leadership Turnover Ceremony, Expanded Executive Committee Meeting, and Pasasalamat Program for retiring officials.

The activity commenced with the Leadership Turnover Ceremony, signifying key leadership transitions within the region. Atty. Clefford E. Pascual formally assumed the role of Acting Provincial Director of TESDA Kalinga, succeeding Florence D. Jose. Meanwhile, Engr. Glenn N. Murphy, who currently serves as Acting Regional Director of TESDA-CAR, officially assumed the position of Acting Chief of the Finance and Administrative Services Division (FASD), succeeding Antonio Saldo.

In their messages, the outgoing officials expressed their gratitude for the support and cooperation extended by TESDA personnel and stakeholders throughout their tenure. The incoming officials likewise conveyed their commitment to sustaining organizational gains and further strengthening the delivery of technical vocational education and training (TVET) programs and services in the region.

Following the turnover ceremony, TESDA-CAR convened its Expanded Executive Committee Meeting attended by Provincial Directors and their respective supervising Technical Education and Skills Development (TESD) Specialists, administrators of TESDA Technology Institutions (TTIs), representatives from the Cordillera State Institute of Technical Education (CSITE) Executive Office and campus administrators, officials and personnel from the Finance and Administrative Services Division (FASD), Regional Operations Division (ROD), and the Association of Concerned Employees (ACE).

The meeting served as a venue to discuss priority programs, operational updates, policy directions, and key initiatives aimed at improving organizational performance and ensuring the effective implementation of TESDA programs and services throughout the Cordillera region.

The day concluded with a Pasasalamat Program honoring the dedicated service and significant contributions of retiring TESDA officials, former Ifugao Provincial Director Victor P. Brioso and Supervising TESD Specialist Susana G. Carbonell of the Regional Operations Division.

Messages of appreciation were delivered by colleagues and staff who highlighted the retirees’ years of dedicated service, exemplary leadership, and invaluable contributions to advancing TESDA’s mandate in the region. The tribute recognized their commitment to promoting quality, accessible, and industry-responsive technical vocational education and training for the Cordillerans.

The event underscored TESDA-CAR’s commitment to ensuring leadership continuity, strengthening organizational collaboration, and honoring the contributions of its personnel as it continues to pursue excellence in skills development and workforce empowerment in the region.
