IN ITOGON | The Ampucao Barangay DRRMC said that clearing operation is being conducted at a landslide affected area along the Kias-Philex Provincial Road in Sitio Caloog, Barangay Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet.

The operation is conducted through the support of the Philex Mining Corporation.

As of today, September 3, 2026, the road remains impassable due to a landslide that occurred on Wednesday afternoon, September 2, 2026 due still to the continuous heavy rainfall brought by the Southwest Monsoon. (Source | Barangay Ampucao)

College exams scheduled today will be administered via LMS.

After continuous clearing operations, the affected road section has been PUNCHED-THRU AND IS NOW OPEN TO TRAFFIC.

Motorists may now pass through, but are strongly advised to TAKE EXTRA CAUTION, reduce speed, and remain alert. Clearing and stabilization works may still be ongoing in the area.

The road is open—please pass with caution.

The Ampucao BDRRMC appeals to stranded motorists along Sitio Caloog at the Kias-Philex Provincial Road in Samuyao, Ampucao, Itogon, Benguet, to return to their point of origin, as clearing operations have been temporarily halted at pass 7PM due to continued heavy rainfall and to ensure the safety of personnel.

The road closed before 6PM today, Sept 2, 2026, due to a landslide incident.

Benguet Governor Melchor Daguines Diclas, through Executive Order No. 2026-68, has ordered the suspension of face-to-face classes from preschool to senior high school, including the ALS, in both private and public educational institutions, in the province of Benguet on September 3, 2026, due to the inclement weather.

Schools are encouraged to implement appropriate alternative learning modalities and other learning continuity measures, as may be feasible, to ensure that learning activities continue while face-to-face classes are suspended.

The DSWD-CAR and the SWAD-Benguet distributed family food packs, Ready-to-Eat Food and other food and non-food items to families affected by a landslide incident in Tollebeng, Loacan in Itogon, Benguet.

A total of 48 Family Food Packs (FFPs), 60 Ready-to-Eat Food (RTEF) packs, 80 drinking water, 16 hygiene kits, 16 sleeping kits, at 6 kitchen kits were turned-over to said families.

The personnel of the DSWD-CAR immediately conducted on-site monitoring and validation following the occurrence of the incident on Sunday, August 30, 2026.

The DSWD-CAR and the municipal government of Itogon also identified other families living in high-risk areas in the vicinity of Tollebeng, Loacan which were recommended to also conduct preemptive evacuation.

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 68, face-to-face classes for all levels in both public and private schools are suspended on September 3 & 4, 2026 in the municipality of Bakun due to inclement weather conditions.

Schools shall provide appropriate home-based learning activities, modules, or other suitable learning tasks to ensure continuity of education.

For guidance and concerns, please coordinate with your respective teachers. Please stay safe, stay alert, and monitor official channels for further announcements and updates.
