The Regional Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (RADDL) achieved a significant milestone in enhancing its diagnostic capabilities through hands-on training in Bacterial Isolation and Identification, and Antimicrobial Susceptibility Test by Disk Diffusion, conducted from December 4 to 8, 2023 at Dontogan Baguio City. Following the intensive training, the laboratory embarked on a parallel testing phase, under the leadership of the Bacteriology unit of the Animal Disease Diagnosis and Reference Laboratory (ADDRL). The testing, which included Antimicrobial Susceptibility Test by Disk Diffusion and bacterial isolation and identification, concluded successfully from December 11 to 22, 2023.
The dedicated RADDL staff, Ms. Deemugh Agnes C. Bantog, Dr. Shearwood S. It-itan, and Dr. Urchris Oleng S. Doyayag, actively participated in the rigorous hands-on training sessions, focusing on different techniques in Bacterial Isolation and Identification which are crucial for accurate and swift disease diagnosis in animal populations. Additionally, the laboratory personnel honed their skills in the Antimicrobial Susceptibility Test by Disk Diffusion, a key component in determining the effectiveness of antimicrobial agents.
RADDL seamlessly transitioned into a parallel testing phase with the knowledge gained from the training. The team engaged in comprehensive testing procedures for Antimicrobial Susceptibility Test by Disk Diffusion and bacterial isolation and identification. Demonstrating exceptional competence, the laboratory met the standards set by ADDRL, marking a significant achievement in advancing their diagnostic capabilities.
RADDLโs successful completion of the training and parallel testing highlights the laboratory's dedication to staying at the forefront of diagnostic excellence. The commendable efforts of the RADDL team in mastering bacteriology techniques undoubtedly enhances their ability to provide accurate and timely diagnoses, contributing to the overall health and well-being of animal population.
